Texas: a lonely republic

Back with another post for THTNS! Today we have the republic of Texas, and I don't really have much to talk about this one. Without an United States, they're unable to hold their land claims, but are able to remain independent in their original borders. It's a pretty uninteresting Republic all things considered, pretty agrarian, although rich.

The republic of Louisiana: Every man a beggar

Hey guys I'm back again with another post for “The House that never stood” alternate history scenario! Today we have the Louisiana republic!

The lore for this one is basically: In the 1800s Mexico inherited Louisiana from Spain after Napoleon was unable to sell it due to the United States not being a sole united identity. The yankee colonists migrated to the area and just like Florida, influenced the region to separate from Mexico. This would be the last rebellious province that Mexico would end up tolerating. Louisiana remained a largely agrarian country in the 19th century, suffering from slavery, her main partners being the republics of Georgia, Carolina, Florida, Mexico and Virginia. This all changed in the beginning of the 20th century, as Louisiana discovered many oil fields in its territory, fueling newfound industrialization and exporting this Natural resource for many countries abroad. Not all is well for Louisiana's population, however, the ruling class of the country, descending from agrarian elites, evolved into an oil oligarchy, prioritizing their profit over the well being of the population. Louisiana's best President, Huey Long, attempted wide reforms throughout the country, but was assassinated, the biggest railroad in the country being named after him. As we reach the 1970s, the government of Louisiana seems stable and rich, at the cost of its population. Allowing the most extreme forms of capitalism to take place in the territory all for the sake of profit.

The country also went through a francophone revival, financed by the government to give Louisiana an “unique” and “fancy” identity to the outside world, claiming to be a francophone country, despite most inhabitants speaking Spanish and English.

Crisis at the Lakes Great Federation

Hello guys back again with another post for The House That Never Stood!!! Today we have the Great Lakes Federation or Mishigan! Without a coordinated expansion into the great lakes, Britain manages to have its buffer states against the American colonists in the region, Tecumseh's confederacy survives for more decades, until migration from colonists into the territory results in it becoming a British protectorate. In the late 1800s, the Mishigan territory (as it was named by the British) becomes the “Great Lakes Federation”, it sends troops to fight Germany in world war 1 (A large portion of them being Native Americans) As the 1950s come along, the Great Lakes Federation starts its process of independence until the late 60s to early 70s, which is when this map takes place! There will be more lore about it in the future, so stay tuned!

Welcome to the world of The House that never stood

Hi! Im u/BlitzthesillyOwl, the guy who's created this subreddit and the Alternate History scenario that it explores! This scenarios divergence point is the Articles of Confederation being kept in the 13 colonies after their independence. The content shown is probably not going to focus on realism. I'll post maps, drawings and other fun things about this setting!

If you have any suggestions be sure to DM me, and we can talk about it! You can make any fan content too. :) enjoy the sub

[The House that never stood] New England WW1 Propaganda

Hi guys I'm back with another map, this one is different from my usual info maps I was inspired by one of those American newspaper WW1 maps saying Germany wanted to annex the country! In my scenario New England joins WW1 on the side of the Triple Entente

Also there is no Mexico post, you did not see any Mexico post...

[The House that never stood] ¡Arriba México!

Hey guys, I'm back with another map from my alternate history world. I'm thinking of posting these maps and other content in a page somewhere, if you guys have any suggestions lmk! Anyways, today we have Mexico! Or the Mexican Empire. I'll explain the lore for this one

After the independence is won in this scenario, Augustín de Iturbide looks at how the United States failed to form an unified government and broke into several republics. Fearing something similar would happen to Mexico, he is more cooperative with the republicans at the national Congress, and doesn't fire Santa Anna from his post, guaranteeing that he remains in the throne, and that Mexico has a stable government. (Not the most realistic change, but Alternate History is about Plausibility in my opinion, not Realism :])

Louisiana was sold back to Spain after the Napoleonic wars, since Napoleon was unable to sell to anyone else, given the lack of a federal government in the 13 republics, and so the Louisiana territory passed down to Mexico, who in this timeline quickly settled its northern lands, and utilized its wealth to make improvements in the army and the country, repelling any invasions that could come from the Yankees. Mexico slowly becomes a regional superpower, acting like the United States in OTL, they invade Cuba, the Philippines and Puerto Rico, freeing them from the Spanish Empire. On the first of January of 1900, Mexico City was renamed to Tenoztitlan, to commemorate a new Century for the country (I thought it'd be a cool idea. I changed the spelling from “Tenochtitlan” to “Tenoztitlan” . I thought it'd make sense for the word’s spelling to be changed in lore.) There's some little bits of lore in the image as well, if you are curious enough. Feel free to ask questions down below!

[The House that never stood] Vermont troubles

Hello guys I'm back with another post, thinking of having a page somewhere only for this world, I'd like to post more than maps about this world … anyways today we have the Vermont independence

This idea was suggested by some users! I really liked it so I decided to incorporate it, here we have the independence movement at its peak in the 70s, it'll fade into something less active in the next decades, but the feeling will remain, much like Quebec in OTL, feel free to ask questions down below!

[The House that never Stood] Alaska: The sick man of North America

Hello everyone, this is yet another one of my posts about my alternate history scenario, “The House that never Stood”

https://www.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/s/U6n6b1GUYj

Previous posts about the folks who are interested!

Anyways since we're going over the territories that are American in OTL, today I'm gonna talk about Russia in this timeline! Without the Americans being able to buy Alaska, and Mexico not being interested in such a frivolous purchase, the Russians decided to keep the purchase around for longer, eventually discovering Gold in the region, and a whole gold rush begins to the region, from Russians and Anglos alike, forming centers like Jericho, shown in the map. The Russian government shows more interest in the area, and ends up investing in the colony more.

With the Russian revolution kicking in the 1910s, the Royal Family is sent to Alaska to be kept away from the political scene, and to guarantee their safety after they were deposed. After the white army defeat in the Russian revolution, The Romanovs are reinstated in power in the last remaining province of the Russian empire, Alaska. As time marches on, Slowly Alaska develops its own self identity, growing apart culturally from the Communist Russia in the east.

This is a bit of a more generic route for me to go in, but I couldn't think of anything else better for this scenario, and a Mexican Alaska didn't sound as cool to me.

[The House that never stood] Florida: The Sunshine Republic

Second post about my alternate history scenario! This time we're going over the independent Florida Republic, a very long Florida indeed. Due to France being unable to sell Louisiana to the United States (because there isn't really an United States) the territory passed back to Spain, and then after, to Mexico. We will talk about Mexico some other time, what's important in the scenario is, the Floridas became Mexican property as well. Shortly after Mexican independence, the Floridas, influenced by the Thirteen republics up north, declared independence from Mexico, and united as a single republic, Mexico, not yet being able to properly handle all this vast land it was given, decided to grant the small republic its independence after some border skirmishes, birthing the Florida Republic. Feel free to ask questions below!

[The House that never stood] map of the League of America in 1975

Hi! this is my first post here in the subreddit, I'm pretty new to this thing! This is a map for my scenario where the articles of confederation are kept, and a proper constitution is never made for the United States. Eventually turning the idea of the United States into an alliance called the League of America! You can ask questions down below if you'd like. :) I'll be making more posts about this world in the future!!!

Edit: the title is meant to say 1976, instead of 1975

Bandeira do Brasil no meu cenário de história alternativa (ESTA BANDEIRA NÃO É PARA USOS POLÍTICOS, APENAS PARA UM MUNDO IMAGINÁRIO, NÃO DEBATA POLÍTICA COMIGO NOS COMENTÁRIOS

A bandeira utiliza padrões geométricos indígenas, representando os primeiros povos da nação. O vermelho e amarelo, são claramente, símbolos socialistas. A estrela no meio representa a unidade e prosperidade nacional.

Esta bandeira é apenas para o meu mundo de história alternativa, e não é para fins políticos na vida real.
