Do you think Piccolo actually understands Gohan better than Goku does?
The more I think about it, the more interesting their relationship gets.
Goku obviously loves Gohan, but hes always seemed to assume that Gohan will eventually want to become a fighter because hes talented at it. Piccolo, on the other hand, seemed to realize pretty early that Gohan was never really interested in fighting for the sake of fighting.
Even during the Cell saga, Piccolo was one of the few people who seemed to understand how much Gohan hated the idea of hurting someone.
So Im curious: if Gohan had never become a fighter, do you think Piccolo would still have stayed as involved in his life?
Or was their bond mainly created because Piccolo was the person who trained him?
Anyone else think about how insane it must be to just be a regular human on Dragon Ball's Earth?
Like imagine just living your normal life and the sky randomly turns green because a tyrant from space is about to blow up the planet, or giant explosions are happening on the horizon because your friends are fighting something called Cell. No powers, no idea what's going on, just vibes and prayer.
We never really see it from that side though. No news coverage panic, no government response, no random civilians freaking out in the streets during the big fights. It's like the whole planet just collectively shrugs and goes back to normal once it's over.
Kind of wish there was even one arc that leaned into that, showing what it's actually like for the 99.9% of Earth that isn't a fighter. Anyone know if this ever gets touched on in supplementary material or side manga stuff?
