As we celebrate 250 I would like to look back at a chunk of American soccer specifically in our Pittsburgh area. Back in the 1940s and 1950s this area was a soccer powerhouse included multiple teams winning the Lamar hunt us open cup. Teams in the finals every year. Most of the teams were made up of blue collar mill workers and steel workers. With the World Cup and the annual hounds 4th of July game I hope our youth turn this area into glory again… GOOGLE IT!
