Scotia cannot tell me the results of my complaints. And default loan because of human error
I'll try my best to explain.
In December my car loan ended up to a collection agency following a difficult life situation.
I paid everything owed. It took months for the collection agency to send the papers back to the bank.
Every 2 weeks I would call and explain my situation and I was told they couldn't restart the payment due to the missing papers.
One day I called and hear I owe 800$ again because of all the missing payments I couldn't make.
The gentleman told me they would restart the bi-weekly payments and to pay the 800$ slowly.
However the bank never restarted the payments.
Despite having confirmed everything with them.
And my car loan ended up again in a collection agency.
I called and placed several complaints, as the amount owed was around 1000$, but the new collection agency fees were almost 2,000$ and didn't think it was fair for me to pay those due to the bank not restarting the payment like they said.
I would file a complaint with a CSR on the phone, get an email confirming it, and 2 minutes later a resolution email but, said email didn't contain any information.
Only a vague message and that if I wasn't satisfied I should contact the bank again.
3 complaints, same 2 minutes results without any mention of the results.
So I called Scotia and employees, including supervisors couldn't tell me the results as they didn't have access to it.
I was told a letter would be delivered.
Still nothing to this day.
They also left notes on files to wave the fees and only pay the amount owed to the bank, but when the agency called the bank, the bank said no. Despite having received confirmation from the employees the notes was in the file.
Now, my car is up for repossession because the bank didn't restart the payments as they said, and I owe thousands in fees because the bank doesn't want to follow through with the removal of the collection agency fees.
What can I do now?
I tried escalating the complaint but I'm told it can take 56 days and I don't have that time.
Thank you for your help.
