Identify old L&M bag size?

I pulled my set out of storage where they have been for more time than I want to admit. I would like to swap the old bag out for a comparable synthetic. Can anyone identify this size? I can’t remember what I purchased.

10 Commandments cut in half

I was just watching the 1950s movie the 10 Commandments. It’s a long movie and has an actual intermission in the middle designed for movie theaters of the period. Pluto ends the movie at the intermission though and there’s no second half listed. Oh well.

Thursday hump-day?

I don't think I'm imaging this, but I've commuted into New Haven daily for years I've noticed that traffic is always very light on Thursdays. The parking garage I use is always much emptier as well. And when Yale is in session there are even much fewer students walking around. Odd question, but do Thursdays have some local significance as a 'day off'. This has always puzzled me.

Grey area -

I saw this at a local mall. Just out of picture is a door leading to the mobile order pick up of a restaurant. They don’t have any dedicated pull-up spots, so this guy parked and went in to get his food. I blame the mall for poor parking and the driver for bending the rules.

It got me wondering. What do people who park like this think when they see others parking in the proper spaces before going in to get their food? At some level don’t they register that everyone else is parking differently?

How do others see Time and History?

I have always visualized the past as a path of events stretching to the left, like in this image.  My teen sees a grid-like calendar hanging in space, thinking of a time makes the grid slide up and down to that point. My spouse says they don’t see anything at all, they rely only on memory.

Opinion question: how do others visualize the timeline of history? What does your Mind’s Eye “SEE” as a shape or construct?

Today in Fairfield, CT

Lots of open spaces and they still couldn’t get it in between the lines. Husband and wife tag team, they left a shopping cart before driving away.

Lane centering challenges

This happens regularly on long road near me. The breakdown lane is wide and some people will straddle the line for a half mile or more. I don’t understand what they’re accomplishing by driving this way. Maybe they think they’re driving a monorail.

Purpose of roof hatches?

Photos of older houses in the US sometimes show a roof hatch. Its been said that this was to allow access for roof repair. But that seems an odd choice for something that might not be needed for years, especially with ladders available. And its not seen on all roofs of the period, only some.

Could these have been propped open to provide ventilation? It seems the most feasible solution but I've never read of people "opening the roof hatch".

Wind turbine?

As you're leaving NH on the Q Bridge, there's a large wind turbine visible on the river side that's been there for years. Could be bad timing on my part but I don't recall seeing it turning for many months now. Anyone know the story on it?

Poor choice

I walked past this at my big box hardware store. The engine was idling and didn’t appear to have anybody inside. Guess he thought idling meant he wasnt ‘parked’. Not sure why he couldn’t have parked in the loading zone like everybody else. It was gone when I came out.

EDIT: forget to mention. Did not have handicapped plates or plaque.

Seeking Insight

I’m non-BPD and I have a totally honest question with no judgment.

When someone with BPD gets disregulated and falls into a very dark place, how much insight is there to want to return to baseline? My friend will crashout and be stuck and looping in a terrible place for days. It has to feel crushing but must be so hard to escape from it.

Unknown location at University of Virginia

This family photo was taken in 1959 at UVA. I was trying to identify the old well to see if it still exists on campus. I thought the rooms and railings across the roof edge looked just like the ones on The Lawn. But there are no white columns in front of the building. I searched the UVA online archives as well as G** Earth but can't find an area that looks like this.

Hey everyone.

Three days ago I had my 2^(ND) Core FOV done by Dr. Shakir and my gray octopus is completely gone, no frill--- I now have a PAIR of floater-free eyes! It’s been almost 2 years since the PVDs which gave me floaters and to finally have clear vision again is beyond words.

My path was slightly derailed when I had a retinal tear just after my 1^(st) FOV last September, which healed properly. Then, a fast-moving cataract appeared and I had the natural lens replaced with an IOL four 4 weeks ago. This journey from FOV-->TEAR-->CATARACT on one eye seemed scary and mysterious at first. But now that I’m on the other side – it’s morphed into a having a few boring, routine procedures. As Aldo Raine said: “It ain’t so bad”.

NOTE: Shakir is pioneering the use of Core FOVs for a long-ignored segment of the population. My hope and belief is one day the Floater-Only Vitrectomy will become a simple outpatient procedure covered by insurance. Pulsemedica looks promising and when its available there will be two solutions out there. To the sufferers: There's HOPE!
