50/500
In an interesting numerical coincidence, my flight from MEX to SFO Sunday was my 50th of the year and my 500th since 2006 (that’s as far back as my flight records go)

First of all, I'm a fan, I travel full time and am using an Airalo eSIM virtually every day, all over the world. And I've always had good interactions with support.
But I'm in Mexico City this week, the SIM has been working flawlessly until today. So I get on the chat and the AI keeps asking the same questions so I asked to be transferred to a human, and after a few mins, I got a human. But now I have to go deep into my settings, take screenshots, and make changes the support person told me to make. Yes it's working now, but whyyyyy???? Why is it working fine for a week, and I'm not traveling around, I'm basically within a few miles of the place I'm staying. But all of a sudden, it's not working and I have to go deep into the system settings and make changes for the SIM to work again.
I don't get it.
I have an iWatch S11, brand new (well one month) and I use it all day/night every day. By default, my phone is on DND with no ringer 24x7 and I told the watch to mirror my iPhone. But I get random notifications on the watch, really random, like apps that I haven't opened in a while, even on the phone. Rather than turn off every single notification, which I assume would solve it, why isn't it mirroring the phone 100%? I think I'm on the most current OS (26.3)
any advice?
I use Airalo pretty much full time as I'm traveling out of the country pretty much full time. Some of my eSIMs say there's no top off available, so I assume the carrier deals changed or something so I can't reuse/add data to them. But when I look at the eSIM, there's a message that says it's installed, don't delete it. Seems to me if I'm going back to that country, I'll need a new eSIM so there should be no problem deleting the one that can't be topped off. But assuming that's true, why does Airalo give that "do not delete" message? The message should be "okay to delete"
I hope Airalo support sees this, but thanks to anyone who can confirm.
All I wanted to do was find software that would help me create better looking Instagram reels. Capcut keeps showing up on every list. So I downloaded it
I've been in tech my whole career as a software engineer and product manager and this is the WORST POS SOFTWARE I'VE EVER SEEN. Well, maybe some enterprise software products 20 years ago, but sheesh is this bad. Every single thing you want to do is counter-intuitive. Where are my projects? Where's the file system. Why is there no help? Why can't I re-order my clips? Why do they have a secret vocabulary? Nothing makes sense.
I stupidly thought I was missing something that was only available in the Pro version so I subscribed and now I can't figure out how to get a refund or cancel the recurring payment. I acknowledge my mistake and deserve the punishment but holy mackerel this is such a horrible UX.
And where's the billing information? I bought it directly online, not through Google or Apple store but where is my account info? How do I stop them from billing me every year? I can't believe how horrible this app is
sorry, rant over (for now)
I just passed my 1mm mile milestone, on a flight from MEX to SFO. I've seen all the milestone posts on this sub and everyone seems to have had a different experience. My expectations were kinda low tbh.
But omg, the trip FAR exceeded my expectations. They were waiting for me in the United Club at MEX with a certificate and note from Scott Kirby (well, a printed card, not personalized lol) and walked me to the bar to get a drink (unnecessary since I could get my own, but so nice).
I got in my seat (2F), the pre-departure drinks were brought around but no one said anything. So I kinda thought the experience in the Club was going to be the whole deal. I was a little disappointed, but very happy about the recognition there so it was fine.
But noooo. The pilot came to my seat (followed by a FA with a glass of champagne for me) and gave a long, very sincere speech that the whole cabin could hear, about what a great achievement it was, how grateful they were for my loyalty and patronage and he was just so happy and smiling the whole time. He gave me the 737 Max card, saying it was the best aircraft in the sky, a Challenge Coin and told the whole story about the military history of it and gave me a sheet of paper called the "HowGoesIt" that he said was a nerdy paper the pilot gets about the route. Then he said "is there anything else we can do for you and I hesitantly asked if I could get a pic in the cockpit and he said "that's where we're going now!!" and I got to sit in the seat. I felt like a little kid. Even though I'm a bit of a jaded traveler, the whole thing was kind of surreal.
During the flight two of the FAs and the purser came by to congratulate and thank me and eventually I had to stop them from refilling my wine glass lol. tbh, a little embarrassing.
This crew went above and beyond IMO. This was an experience I'll never forget and 2 days later I'm still smiling and feel warm in my heart for the way they treated me. I wish all of you could have this kind of experience.
