Almost Cried Laughing Watching Tyler1 Try and Duo
At&T and Riot threw HARD not making the tournament duos somehow. Ik its 5 per team but they could have made captains jugg or something idk. The duos content is so hilarious

Coming from a fighting game background, Ive experienced so much extreme culture shock trying to learn league. The fact smurfing is so common and explicit is the most absurd of all to me. The fact so many major creators openly and proudly smurf (Tyler1 in his climbs, Zwag, Polbelter, etc) with zero backlash blows my mind. Smurfing should result in an instant perma IP ban imo.
Why is it like this in league? Getting carried by a smurf sucks, losing to a smurf is unfair torture, and its SO normalized; people dont even do it in secret.
If anyone got caught making a smurf in a fighting game, their reputation would be ruined and theyd face enormous backlash. In fighting games, the most fun games are the ones where skill levels are very close, but I suppose the appeal of league are those hard carry games where you go 25/0, so people dont really care what elo they play in? Is that it?
Ive tried getting tons of friends into the genre and watched quite a lot of newer players try fighting games over the years and I cant help but notice this trend.
If someone a new player is fighting gets lucky with a meaty or knows anything beyond an autocombo, the instant assumption is that theyre against some smurf with 100s of hours of experience, and like... 99.9% of the time that very obviously is not the case lmao. Its usually just another new player with maybe 3 more hours of experience than them.
Recently been watching some vods from sajam slam and at&t cups for SF6 and 2XKO and its nonstop, both the new player and their chat is convinced every single person slightly better than them is smurfing.
Is this just because fighting games have more visible skill to new players eyes or is it like this everywhere?
