I got bit by the Ghosts of Tabor bug

It's brutal, it's janky, and it's a blast. The gameplay loop is so much fun. I urge those of you who feel a shooter emptiness in their heart to give it a try.

Ever since Firewall Ultra died there's been something missing in my gaming life. Don't get me wrong, It's a COMPLETELY different type of shooter... but! it satisfies a similar "adrenaline gaming" niche that I needed.

If you've ever played Into The Radius, it has a very similar vibe and setup for bunker and gear management. Only instead of killing spookyAI creatures, it's soldiers and there are some actual PvP players mixed in.

So... that's the post. I feel like this game never really took off in this community and it needs a little more love. It seems really popular on other platforms and, thanks to crossplay, I'm getting my ass handed to me by quest users for the most part. It would be nice for PSVR2 to be a little more prominent in that player base.

Speaking of which, if anyone is running solo and wants to do raids together, DM me. No matter what skill level, it's always better to go in numbers.

So I might have messed up...

I have some VR shooter experience with games like Pavlov etc. so figured this game would be right up my alley. I thought whatever I'll just jump right into PvP. Well I encountered a serious skill issue lol.

I was happy to see I had some money and guns already to get a head start. So I made myself a loadout and headed out to the mall. However, I keep getting smoked in the raids and ran out of backpacks (seems I can't buy any others) so I can't even loot if I wanted to.

So I'm kinda stuck in this loop of buying more guns/ammo/armour, trying my luck in a raid, spawning into mall with like 5 angry AI around me. Die. And repeat. I can't even get a damn red dot sight or anything so I'm using iron sights which is really challenging for me

Also... I haven't had to eat or drink yet. Is that because I keep dying? What's the point of bringing food with you if a raid is only 30 mins?.

I'm not sure I'm playing the right way. At this rate I'll be out of money in 5-6 more failed raids. Should I do more training? Did I rush too quickly in PvP? I can barely make it to hearing the buzzer signifying extraction zone is open.

I'm thinking of resetting my profile to get my starting guns, cash, and backpacks back and trying to be more careful this time.

Anyways, despite my getting my ass handed to me, there's something oddly satisfying about this gameplay loop. I can see myself getting hooked once I can actually put up a fight.

Would welcome any tips!

Newbie here, just got a pizza stone. How we looking so far??

Homemade dough. I know the shape is off in the second one lol, it stuck a bit to the peel when I slid it onto the stone so kinda came out more of a rectangle!

Test results! Double loaf pan lid method vs. Roasting pan

The loaf on the right was baked inside of a large roasting pan with the lid.

The loaf on the left was placed directly on the oven rack with another identical loaf pan on top as a lid.

Exactly the same procedure was followed for recipe and fermentation. The only change was the baking method as described above. Same temperature and cook time.

Notes: The double loaf pan loaf needed two extra minutes to get to the right temperature. It was already much darker at that time. This tells me the roasting pan did a better job keeping the heat in in the initial cook time with the lid.

Both loafs had a nice rise. However the double loaf pan is much darker underneath. This tells me the roasting pan added a very important barrier between the loaf pan and the oven heat. In my opinion, the double loaf pan got too dark underneath so I won't be doing that again... but wanted absolutely to try this test. Full recipe and process in comments for anyone interested.

I love making 2 loaves at a time cause it's only about 15% more effort. What are your efficiency tips?

PSA: Wash your damn filters

We neglected to wash our filters (on the interior heads) for a whole year. Just kinda... forgot. The Canadian winter was brutal. The heat pump efficiency suffered so badly that our electric baseboard heat had to turn on for much of the winter to compensate.

I never put 2 and 2 together until I checked the filters in the spring. Holy mother of God I didn't know so much dust could collect there. Even worse. we got our electricity bill and owed $500 on top of our regular equalized payment bill.

Don't be a dummy like me. Just wash/rinse your filters monthly. The longer you wait, the more money you waste and the harder they are to clean.

Aside from a big ass crowd and awesome vibes, there any reason to visit the outside of the Bell Centre?

Any activities, entertainment, games for kids?

Wanted to bring my son just to see how deep the MTL religion is haha. But not sure it's worth the 45 min metro ride

4 reasons loafpan sourdough is the best...

  1. Shaping is much more foolproof. No preshape needed. Just shape into a tight log and pop it in an oiled up loaf pan

  2. No proofing baskets needed! Proof right in the loaf pan

  3. Slices much easier and uniformly. No more little nubs or weirdly shaped end pieces.

  4. Just as beautiful (IMO) and delicious.

Roasting pan also doesn't need to be pre heated like a Dutch oven. It's a winner. And it's cheaper. Ok maybe that's 6 reasons haha

Hi all,

I'm trying to consolidate where my RSPs are...

Currently I have some with Sun life, some with Tangerine, Some with Wealth Simple... I want everything in the same place just for convenience and... It's not like I have different strategies at the 3 places anyways.

I also don't mind moving everything to a new service provider if it makes sense.

I'm looking for the best managed service where I just have to pay a certain amount per month and I can confidently bank on 5-10% returns most years (understanding some years are worse than others). I don't mind a little fee (WS managed account is 0.5% which seems good). I just don't want to have to think about it. Just set up my automated transactions and forget about it until I retire in 15 or 20 years.

Anyone have a go-to???

PS: I also have ETFs with WS as well but I just don't think I'll have the energy to keep selecting my ETFs to invest in each month. I'd probably just end up buying the broad ones like Total stock market and S&P 500 style ones. Though I suppose I could automate all my savings to just feed into my ETFs automatically every month.
