I was able to keep up with all the new releases I cared about in September until Fire Emblem hit. The game is very long, and because of that I all of a sudden have several games piling up on me that I really want to play: Control, Witcher 3, and Gears EDay.

I'm prioritizing Control, EDay, and hoping I can get a good way into Witcher 3 before OoT Remake comes out.

What September games are you prioritizing to catch up with during the calm before the storm?

I have not been sleeping well at all at night which means I am catching up on a bunch of podcasts episodes I've missed the last couple of weeks while laying in bed trying to sleep.

Last night at 3:30 am I was listening to The Pros and Cons of Greg Miller. At the very end they start talking about a time Nick shot a basketball terribly. When they all started to laugh I decided to go to the YouTube link.

Initially I felt bad because it is a double rimmed hoop which is notorious for actually trying to make shots on, so I assumed it would just bounce incredibly awkwardly. And then I got to the actual shot, which is something that must be truly unique event to ever happen on a basketball court.. I laughed so hard that I woke up my wife who was incredibly mad at me, for good reason.

The report was that the NBA was stopping the trade from happening, sounds ominous. But then Silver said the teams are the ones deciding to wait to complete the trade.

So, if they voided Kawhi's contract after the trade the Clippers would receive a windfall of the Raptors package as the Raptors would receive the Clippers punishment. No way the NBA would ever allow that.

If voiding the contract was on the table then the NBA *would* be the ones stopping the trade from being completed.

Can't have one damn good thing in this world.

With all the discussion regarding the cost of computer parts making consoles too expensive it got me thinking about a potential business strategy, and that strategy made me think of another one.

Often times variable priced commodities aren't truly tied to market conditions. Gas for example, except in extreme times like our's (and even now I think it is to help Republicans in November) the price of gas will immediately increase at speculation that an event may increase the cost of oil, but if that situation gets resolved they won't drop the price until the cost of oil actually stabilizes.

But, what if each console was priced based on the exact price that particular box cost to manufacture. So, Tuesday's shipment of PS5s may cost $X, but next week's costs $X+1 but the following week it costs $X-1.

In reality this would cause an even bigger problems with scalpers, but assuming this, or any other real world complications wouldn't happen, would you prefer the certainty of price or transparency and potential lower prices when market conditions improve?

Just watched last week's Game Showdown and the boys were shook about Metal Gear Revengence using Make America Great Again I tried to find last week's Game Showdown post to see if anyone else explained how it used it, but couldn't find it, but I am too egotistical to let go of my knowledge so I am making a new post to share it (please feel free to downvote)

After last week's very late goal to lose, I felt like Angel City always loses or lets their opponent score at the last minute to allow a tie. Having no idea if that is true, and not knowing of any resource that does this, I calculated the times Angel City has allowed a very late goal (which I defined as the 85th minute or later) to lose or opponent tie, but also for Angel City to win or tie. I manually looked at every tie or 1 point win/loss. Here are my findings:

Just wanted to give a friendly FYI to KFBFs. I was on the Xbox XBOX PC store front this morning and I saw an ad that, very confusingly said that if you pre-order 007 First Light and play 007 First Light for at least 10 minutes on the Xbox XBOX PC app you will get a $10 Xbox XBOX gift card. The game is play anywhere so if you buy it on Xbox XBOX you get access to the game on Xbox XBOX PC, so it is a fairly easy way to get an immediate discount on the game.

According to the article this is down from Returnal's first 2 weeks, which to me doesn't seem great because there were around 17.3 million PS5s when Returnal was released and there are now 93.7 million PS5s in the wild.

Playstation obviously bet big on GaaS and crashed and burned with that. But, do we think the sluggish sales of an exciting new single player game is something to be concerned about? Maybe it isn't that people look to Playstation for single player narrative games but instead they look to them increasingly for specific tentpole games and maybe don't care about the rest?

Obviously you can't take one game's performance as a sign of a trend, but I was shocked to see the sale numbers

Mike inspired me to play Majora's Mask, but I wanted to play the 3DS remake, not the N64 port on the Switch. I found my 3DS and despite not touching it since the Switch released the console works perfectly. I was really impressed.

In looking for the 3DS I also found my Vita and who knows when I last touched that system.

I laughed to myself because I will likely never even test if the Vita still works because there is no game locked to that console I would be desperate to play.

Anyway, this got me thinking, do video game preservationists prefer a console that will survive the heat death of the universe so you can play the games as originally intended or a company continuously porting games to new consoles to keep them playable even if it isn't a 1:1 original experience but makes the games easier to play and less likely to be fully lost to time?

After the Buzz for the week of May 4, 2026 was posted this morning with Snow Bike Mike once again not hosting, I asked in the comments for a breakdown of how much Mike actually hosts his own show. Deciding to be the change I want to see in the world, I did it myself.

I was able to do this by watching every episode and manually keeping track of when Mike handed off duties, but it would have taken me hours longer if u/Responsible-Win-3941 didn't show me (an old) how to get to each video easily.

*So, a breakdown:*

Counting the one posted today, there have been 18 episodes of The Buzz, Mike has exclusively hosted 9 of them. He hasn't been on 3 of them.

Mike has handed off hosting duties for 23:15 minutes of that time (this includes in episode hand offs and non-appearances).

That means Mike has actually hosted for a surprising **74.68%** of the time of The Buzz, which is about 50% higher than I was expecting before starting this project.

I am recovering from surgery and decided to make myself a project to do.
