Tips for moving with a door darter

Hey folks,

I have a five year old cat that came to me as a ten week old feral -- she is a lovebug with us but will forever be pretty skittish and prone to door darting/running when spooked. We currently use an "air lock" system and enter and exit through our garage so it hasn't been much of an issue.

We are likely to be moving about an hour and a half away, and it will be her first move. My one and only previous cat was bulletproof and could not give a single hoot about moving, but it's going to be much harder on our current girl. I know the basics -- small room, as many familiar smells as possible, but could use any weird tips others may have and advice on order (move her first? move her last?).

We'll obviously have gabapentin on board but I'm looking for any and all tips regarding moving with spooky kitties while we are still very early in the planning stage and have time to take any advice into consideration. This is my biggest stress right now, I am very anxious about making sure I can keep her safe in this process.

Thanks!

Tell me what to check out this weekend for a possible move :)

Hey folks,

We live down in Gig Harbor and we're thinking of moving. I grew up in Gig Harbor and we have lived here as a couple for almost 20 years -- we also spend a good portion of our recreation time in University Place and Ruston (Tacoma). We love it here but it's time for a change. We'd like to pop up this weekend to check out the area more thoroughly.

Looking for suggestions for the following:

- Coffee and boba tea (Curran and Jade Lounge are our favorites here, for anyone familiar with the area)
- Gluten free and dairy free offerings (either or both, I'm NCGS and my partner is dairy allergic)
- Favorite fast casual and casual lunch/dinner spots
- Local markets/grocery stores
- Favorite bike trails and walking trails, especially near water
- Local pet supply stores with a good cat supply selection
- Relaxing driving loops
- Favorite movie theater
- Favorite dispensary

Open to any and all extra suggestions too! Obviously given our area, we're generally quiet folks who just enjoy being outside doing nothing in particular and eating/drinking delicious things. Thanks for the suggestions!

Edit to add: I should add that checking out anything within about 20mins any direction from Redmond is fair game too. If your favorite spot is in Woodinville or something, we'd still like to know.

What are you doing in game while waiting for PZ2?

Hey friends! Eeeeeeee PZ2 announcement feels imminent! As such, feels a bit silly to work on a whole zoo, so I've been puttering around in dioramas. I've never played with the diorama feature before and making small vignettes is fast, fun, relaxing, and doesn't come with any "ughhh but how long is this even gonna be relevant?" feelings. Highly recommend!

I love these windows between "expansions" for any game -- they are perfect for getting to features and activities I've never gotten to before in a super low pressure way.

What's everyone up to? Are there things you've never done before in PZ1 you might want to try out before it sunsets?
