Your queer nightlife is fckn awesome

As someone from London, England, I have to say that your queer nightlife scene in Toronto is brilliant. I wish we had a massive cruising/dance venue like the one I went to in the downtown (can't remember the name). I also loved the gay village and Woodys and this venue I went to called Cafeteria, among other ones I went to in the west. I really don't want to go back. You all have such an appetite for it across the pond. Yes, we have Soho in London, and get good DJs but it's quite fragmented and skews much older, not as cruisy and wild as over here.

I feel really alone

I hope this isn't too much information.

25m here, masc, mixed race, been told that i'm conventionally attractive and a nice guy. I started seeing this guy who I really like and am physically attracted to but I have been having trouble with erections and orgasm. I can get off on my own but I think porn has fried my brain and I jerk off quite often. My dick never works when I try topping. Even oral is difficult for me.

Me and this guy are not official yet and I am going to Yumyum this Saturday and want to try cruising and exploring a bit but I can never get hard at these events (even though a really hot guy is infront of me). It makes me not feel 'man enough', or something. All my guy friends talk about all the great sex they are having and I just cannot relate.

want desperately to feel that I can give someone else pleasure and satisfaction as well. Often they want me to cum, but I cannot so I always just end up finishing them off.

I feel alone and like I can't enjoy sex and the kinds of spaces and encounters that arise from it.

Does anyone have any advice?

Did anyone make it to Book Bar's opening?

Anyone who went to the grand opening of book bar, what was it like? Was it worth it?

What are Yumyum and the other events at Complex19 like?

As someone who frequents Berlin (especially KitKat), what have been these events at Complex19 been like in comparison and how wild do they get? How are people dressed? How kinky does it get? What is the crowd like and atmosphere like in comparison to other places in Toronto.

Is Toronto *actually* lacking soul?

Does anyone find the stereotype of Toronto being soulless and lacking culture to be completely untrue?

People who say Toronto's nightlife scene is dead compared to the early 2000s have no idea about the massive rave community that is alive and growing. It seems that things are picking up, especially DIY and queer focused events.

when tourists visit Toronto, they stay in our commercial core and rarely venture outside of the downtown. They don't see Toronto's eclectic vibe and experience any of our cool 'alternative' neighbourhoods with grassroots arts shows etc. They never walk along the beaches boardwalk on a summer night packed with great vibes and people out late.

Before you mention Montreal, I have lived there and agree that they do festivals, pedestrian streets and arts better but have also observed that since Montreal is so compact, everything is concentrated into a smaller area, whereas Toronto is more spread out but equally as artsy.

EDIT: When I refer to 'soul' and 'culture', I am not just talking about raves and specifically queer events but also festivals, community-events, dance, theatre, film, dining and the ethnic communities who inform Toronto's identity.
