How to maintain your practice scores on the actual MCAT

Hello all, I wanted to post this to give tips on how you can score as your averages on exam day. Background: I took the MCAT twice. Scored a 501 with different section break downs both times.

The first time didn't know how to study was scoring (494- 503) and got a 501 on test day.

Second time I took some time off and took a diagnostic and scored a 495, but after completing 1000s of questions and reviewing weakness and working on strategies, I was getting massive score jumps highest being a 509 with lower end being a 507( took I believe close to 7 practice exams), so on my exam day I predicted I would get the maybe a 508-509.

Unfortunately I scored a 501, it's like I haven't even studied. Things I can contribute this to: Don't change your answers last minute on exam, for me this is what I did , because I didn't believe myself I was like I must be wrong.

So changed my answers , another thing is sleep, the night before my exam I had a high temperature so couldn't sleep well. Another mistake studying until last minute the day before your exam. This will not raise your score. I can only think of these reasons as why my score dropped. I couldn't take another gap year or redo the MCAT for a third time, so I decided I would apply and see where I land with my score.

But if I were to retake I would follow these points and try to not repeat same mistake.

In 2009, 26-year-old Chinese free-diver Yang Yun suffered crippling leg cramps in a 20-foot arctic pool at Harbin's Polar Land during a diving competition. A beluga whale named Mila grabbed her leg in its mouth and pushed her to the surface, saving her life.

Bf(21M) said I love you for the first time after months of dating

Today my bf said I love you for the first time and I'm literally on cloud nine😭💗💗. I've been desperately wanting to hear those words from him for such a long time tho I know that he loves me.

We've been talking for almost 8 months now and after such a long time I finally get to hear those words.

There was never such a time when I had to wait this long to hear I love you from my partner. During most of my past relationships, my exes were pretty quick to say ' I love you' so I never felt that much significant. But now, I can't believe that I'm hearing such words I've been taking granted for🤧. Tbh, it feels good and there is a feeling that I can't express and the bonding that is between him and me.

Making homemade meals for college students

Before, I only started selling muffins, cupcakes, or any bread for other college students to order. Basically just simple desserts that could fill our hungry stomachs during classes. Sometimes, they would order batches for parties or college gatherings. Then one of the students asked if I want to expand this ‘food selling hustle’ into something more, like selling actual homemade meals, something that they really want to have accessible inside the college community.

When I posted it on the bulletin along with the order form they can access online, I have received a bunch of requests for the meals they want to have. There were some foods that I really spent time learning, especially Asian foods but it’s worth it every time because the same customers keep coming back but since I’m also a student myself, I have to adjust my service and have it prepared beforehand instead if they want to request something specific. But on a daily basis, I only prepare batches of food I was able to prepare that day, portion them into containers, and students would either have it delivered or they would pick it up from my dorm.

Now the most important part here is that food prices are reasonable and student-friendly because I know, as a college student myself, homemade meals feel like a luxury and it is indeed expensive when bought on takeouts. At least, aside from earning, I am able to make people feel at home with the food I'm selling.

They had a cure, the doctors withheld it

In 1932, the US government began a study on Black men with syphilis in Tuskegee, Alabama. The men were not properly informed that they had syphilis, and even after penicillin became an effective treatment, researchers deliberately withheld it to study how the disease progressed

The study continued for 40 years, ending only after the truth became public in 1972

I get paid to remove stubborn stains everyone else gave up on

I never thought at first that I could run a side-hustle like this because there are literally laundry shops and at-home methods you can try to remove stains. As a matter of fact, I’ve also learned this skill on my own when I tried lots and different methods to remove one stubborn stain off my carpet. The moment I found the right method to remove the stain, I immediately posted it on my Facebook and found out how there were actually plenty of people who share the same struggle as mine.

And you know what they all say… strike while the iron is hot!

So I jokingly told them I could remove stains from their clothes, carpets, sofa or anything that has stubborn stains they can’t get rid off. Surprisingly, there were actual people who contacted me to remove stains from their sofas and favorite shirts (especially yellow stains that is difficult to remove)

There are different methods you can apply to different stains on different items to make sure that it’s actually cleaned up without ruining the material of the item. I charge between €15 to €45 depending on the item and stain.

Doing laundry for college students

I’m a graduating student and only have a few units left, so I had a lot of free time while my roommates were still busy with classes, projects, and backlogs. They were always struggling to keep up with their laundry, so I offered to do it for them for less than what laundry shops charge. I would wash, dry, fold, and organize everything, and they’d usually pay me around $10-$15 per load

Every week, there are around 5 students who wants to avail of my service. It’s still bearable since students don’t give me their laundry on the same day. Most of them don’t just have the time to do this and just want to study and rest during their free time, without having to worry about their dirty laundry and folding them, paying extra at laundry shops, or leaving their laundry for people to work on, only for some valuable items to go missing.

now, my side is just a simple tour that everyone in college is too busy or
