Tisas PX-9 Series

I recently noticed on the TISAS USA product page that the PX-9 series has been rebranded as Gen 3. Gen 3 is actually on the barrel and the wording that was on the barrel a month or so ago is different now. My question, has TISAS released a new version of their PX-9 series or are they just further separating themselves from SDS Imports? Curious minds would like to know. Thanks!

SAR 7/24 Magazine Compatibility and Other Questions

Every time I watch a video on the SAR 7/24 the more I like the pistol. I like all three of them, however I do not plan on conceal carrying these so I think that would eliminate the 3.6" carry option. With that said, does the extra 0.4" of the Sport make that big of a difference over the 4.0" version of the Standard Model? If you were going to buy one, which one would you go for knowing you are not going to conceal carry it? Are there any differences regarding the triggers between the models? I've seen on SAR USA website they all are identical except for the length, but I've read that there are differences in the trigger between the Sport and Standard model. Final question, and I thank you if you got this far, will the Mec-Gar CZ-75 9mm 19 Round Extended Magazine fit these pistols? I hope so otherwise I will be stuck to buy from SAR USA at a premium for less rounds. I am so undecided as to which model to get I wish I could get my hand on one prior to and test it. The 3.6" carry model looks pretty damn cool, but I don't think it will shoot as well as the 4.0" or 4.4" barrel. Anyway, thank you in advance for any feedback or insights you can provide! Thanks!

Taurus TX22 TORO: Front of the Pistol is not Flush with the Rail

After cleaning and reassembly I noticed that the front of my slide sits up higher above the rail then the rear side of the slide. Is that normal? Does anyone else have that issue. I took it to the range today and had to take the optic off because the battery wears down so quickly on these Viridians that come with the pistol. Anyway, it seemed to shoot ok with a few malfunctions here and there, but I guess that is expected with a .22LR pistol.

SAR 7/24 Barrel Lengths

I have a question for anyone who is familiar with the SAR 7/24 models. Their website lists the SAR 7/24 Compact as having a 3.6" barrel, the 7/24 Full Size as having a 4.0" barrel and the 7/24 Sport as having a 4.4" barrel. However the various retailers I have been shopping for this gun all have them list as the 7/24 Compact at 3.9", the 7/24 Full Size at 4.2" and the 7/24 Sport at 4.6". I don't know who to believe as SAR does not list their models UPC on their website, so I cannot compare UPCs between the resellers and SAR. SAR also doesn't answer the phone and has not responded to any emails sent. The resellers have no idea regarding the details and direct me back to the manufacturer. I want a pistol that is 4.0". Is that the compact or full size model of the 7/24? I have no idea, but maybe someone here does. Thanks!

IWB Brown Leather Holster for the SA-35 4"

I realize that the SA-35 4" was just released, but there are quite a few out there now. Does anyone know or can recommend a leather (preferably soft brown) IWB holster for that model and size of pistol? Thank you!

Browning High Power

Hello, I'm looking for a cost effective reproduction of the Browning High Power. However there are many different ones out there. I was going to purchase the 4" SA-35, but if you can find them they are going for close or above MSRP. Then there is the Inglis, but not sure that comes in a 4" variant. Hell, I'm not even sure if a 4" vs. 4.7" is that big of a deal, but the Inglis does look like the better choice on paper. Anyway, I am interested in the expertise here to guide me towards the right high power Browning remake. It does not have to be Springfield, or Inglis...I am not brand loyal to either of those. I just want a good, reliable, accurate and cost effective solution. Thanks All!

Tisas Carry 9 DS aka Tisas B9R DS Gen 2 1911/2011

Thanks for all the responses on holsters, but I have a new one for you.

I received this pistol around three days ago. Cleaned it, lubed it generously, and then headed to the range. My very first magazine, the very first round did not chamber. After removing it, the second round fed fine then over the course of the next 7-8 magazines I was encountering numerous failure to feed, failure to eject (stovepipe), double feeds, reversed cartridge, failure to lock back after the last round. At the end of magazine 8 it did lock back after the last round.

So after 144 rounds of quite a high number of malfunctions I brought it back home, cleaned it again to get any of the little metal pieces that may have come loose out of the pistol and lubricant, then hand racked it 300 times to help break in the recoil spring.

I have not gone back to the range yet, but will later today. I want to get 500 rounds (124 grain) through it so I can check off the break in period box, but someone told me that these are not break in issues, they are the result of an extractor that needs to be tuned.

There is a simple extractor diagnostic test I got from a thread Steve in Allentown posted on the 1911 forum.

Step 1 - fill a magazine with cartridges
Step 2 - insert the magazine into the pistol
Step 3 - load a round into the chamber
Step 4 - remove the magazine from the pistol
Step 5 - fire the loaded round while observing the case as it ejects

Repeat Steps 1 through 5 until all the cartridges in the magazine are expended.

I am going to do that at the range.

With that said, I am coming here, to the experts, should I expect various malfunctions as the pistol is breaking in and coming together, or do I have an extractor issue that needs addressed?

Your feedback and experiences are greatly appreciated!

Holster Compatibility - Tisas Carry 9 DS 4.25 inch 1911/2011

Hello, I just purchased a Tisas Carry 9 DS also commonly referred to as a Tisas B9R DS Gen 2. It is the 4.25 inch 1911/2011 version. I need to find a holster for it, but am not having much luck. Does anyone know of a holster company that sells holsters for this model, or if there is a different model of gun whose holster will work with this Tisas? Thanks!
