The game will center around the aftermath of what seems to have been a fissure eruption beneath the town of Shardmyr's Hearth - originating near its library of esoteric texts. Darkened lava has bubbled to the surface, disgorging a strange variant of Mephit, along with those burned and choking on the ash rising again as if puppeted by some malignant intellect. By chance, your party was resting within the settlement as events transpired, and now it is up to you to find the source of this incursion and put a plug in it.
