Brainstorming some Ghoul dwarfs

I’m currently planning the big dungeon crawl through an abandoned dwarf Fortress. I’m struggling to come up with some more unique variance than what if Ghoul is wearing or using dwarf equipment.

Currently having a idea about a fire ghoul who is using corpse wax to keep the place lit. With him throwing corpse wax grenades or using the corpse wax item, from the champions of death book.

Another one would be a brew master who is just a super bloated ghoul who splashes the hero’s with necrotic water from his mouth.

Do you guys have any more ideas 💡 Any help would be sweet.

Looking for more material on Desinformation and influencers

I have done my last paper about Russian disinformation and the influence on right wing alternative media. Now I looking for more material on the topic of influencers and Desinformation.

This research is to get a deeper understanding of the topic. I’m not currently planing on writing another paper on this subject.

My current interests are:

Disinformation influencers, influencers that build their entire platform on spreading desinformation and or pseudo science.

Influencers omprised by Desinformation campaigns, reproducing Desinformation and creating Desinformation.

Some books or papers would be useful. I’m thankful for all responses.

Brainstorming a counterintelligence mechanic

I’m currently preparing an adventure about my players breaking into a top secret location. This time, I want to reverse the usual time limit. Instead of “you have X days before the target disappears,” the problem is that an opposing enemy is coming to kill them.

Currently, I just use a normal clock for that.

However, I was wondering whether it would be possible to model this as a kind of heat mechanic. Each mistake could be a log thrown into the fire: it burns hotter, and the players need to get out of the situation before it becomes too dangerous.

The prerequisites would be:

The opposing party knows, in some way or another, that the players are coming.Alternatively the players are being chased, for example by law enforcement.Another prerequisite is that the only way out is through. The players need to commit to the situation rather than simply walk away.

For the core premise, we stay with the image of a fire and throwing logs into it. The logs are major player mistakes: actions big enough to make someone investigate who was responsible.

For example, a player breaks into a car to steal a key for the target location. That triggers a log. An investigator starts looking into who stole the key and generates 1 heat per session. In the next session, someone threatens an employee to get key information. The employee reports it, and a new log is thrown into the fire. A new investigation begins.

The escalations should remain ongoing as the whole fire gains more heat. More and more active countermeasures are implemented, similar to traditional clocks.

Does a system like this already exist in some form? And how do you allow the fire to cool down a bit so the players do not fail too quickly/ make the fire more interactive ?

Currently preparing the next part of my campaign and I want to avoid the usual planning for six sessions only to go in guns blazing in the end.

My current strategy is:

  1. Giving a clue and a side story of a previous runner who tried and failed the run. Give the runners a first lead and gives the group something to do while the rigger and mage do their thing.

  2. Counter intelligence, the azzis know something is coming and they are looking for possible runners. A 24 clock that will give escalations and a possible fail for the run.

  3. Using Heist tokens (the ones from smooth operations) that should make the leg work a bit more fruitful and give some flexibility with the approach.

Anything more I can try and what have you used ?

SPOILER WARNING FOR IMPOSSIBLE LANDSCAPES

Im planing on running impossible landscapes as convention game for my clubs local festival.

I have approximately six four hour sessions to complete the whole thing. As IL can be a multiple month campaign some things need to be cut down to make the time. I’m using the pre generated character pack which I will adjust to have at least one connection be one of the NPCs. Also printing out the portraits for the characters and NPCs to make a pinboard at the end as the audience.

Sessions 1&2 the night floors, cutting the beginning starting the Macallistar building. Second session Night floors and wrapping up.

Sessions 3 Volume of secret faces day luring the agents into Dorchester at the end. Probably only one location of the agents don’t split up

Session 4 Dorchester at night and straight into Like a map made of skin

Session 5 Static into Broadalbin

Session 6 mostly puffer cutting most of Carcosa, the less time is left more will be lost. Key scences I want to keep is the Tractor factory and the Palace. Audience with the King and cut or start ?

Cutting and adjusting most of my current issues are with cutting back on part 2 as everything kinda seems important.

The other acts seem more doable with the only one that could escalate being the night floors but I think just looping the exit and throwing the agents out for now would be a good solution.

Some more intel would be helpful for managing this operation
