Registered at birth
Hi everyone,
After getting ALL my documents notarised and translated I had my appointment in London, it turns out my father (solely Italian citizen at time of my birth) registered my birth when I was born. As you can imagine, this completely threw me and I was not prepared for this happening. The kind person behind the counter said they would email me information and next steps (end goal is to get an Italian passport) but I am also waiting on them receiving confirmation from the comune that my birth was registered there.
After having some time to think, I have a few questions regarding my status and I am hoping someone here can help me understand what this means and the next steps.
Citizenship status:
- Do I have Italian citizenship? During the appointment we were talking about a lot of things that need to happen in the future and I never outright asked this question - the person implied that I am but also didn’t explicitly say it.
- The person said next steps will be determined by whether or not my birth was registered at the comune in Italy - what happens if I was only registered in London and not in Italy?
- If I am a citizen, can I register my children in London and they will be recognised as Italian citizens? I read that you have until the age of 3 to do this - is this true?
AIRE Help:
4. As it stands, can I register on AIRE now?
5. I have had a name change - should I register on AIRE with my name at birth OR with my name now? The person said I will need to show proof of name change in the future (the document I had at my appointment was not valid)
Please let me know if I should post this in another sub, I had great help from this community before and after the laws changed so this was the first place I thought to ask my questions.
Of course, I will wait for the consulates email but I have waited a few days now and in the past I have emailed them multiple times with no response so I know what they are like.
Thank you so much for you help!

First Cards Storage
Hi team,
Long time fan, first time purchaser!
I just bought some Topps Now Arsenal cards and I have no idea how to store them properly. The cards will be for my personal collection as I am an Arsenal fan, I just want to keep them pristine as a memento from this season. Don’t think I will display them as I have young kids so don’t want them to damage them.
Will they be delivered with some form of protection? Do I go for soft sleeves? Rigid sleeves? Magnetic cases? A binder?
I have never collected any form of card before so any suggestions welcome, thank you!
Just dropped to my knees in Tesco.
