Question about Nicrosil compounding and other types of investiture

From what I understand about Compounding, what you're doing is just making Preservation/Harmony fuel your feruchemy for you.

You store a unit of an attribute in your metalmind and then burn it, the metal being a key that let's Preservation/Harmony's power flow through the metal which carries your attribute and so the power takes on the properties of that attribute.

But that seems to create a problem for Nicrosil if you're storing alien investiture. You store a unit of stormlight in a Nicrosilmind. But that's another shard's power, so what's happening when you compound it?

Is Preservation/Harmony having some of it's power permanently transfered to Honor? Or do you now have one unit of Stormlight and 19+ units of "Preservation's power acting like stormlight."

Am I missing something obvious here?

An odd change in Feru!Duralumin

Feruchemic Duralumin seems to have an outright difference from how it's shown in the books- You can't blank your connection in order to speak the local language, instead you have to tap to copy someone else's language or the language of a place.

While I don't feel that using connection to borrow someone else's language would be impossible, the fact that you're tapping to copy the local language feels like it's missing one of the fun things about connection- the fact that both storing and tapping were incredibly useful depending on the situation.

There are other metals where storing and tapping are both useful, so why not Duralumin?

Edit: My memory was just entirely failing me. Sorry. It was identity

[Mistborn Legacy] Running campaigns at a higher level

For my table's playthrough of Mistborn Legacy, we agreed before the books came out that we'd have an "Opening adventure" at first level before jumping in to the adventure, now that I've finally got the books though, I'm trying to think if some adjustments will be made as there will be certain chapters where the group will be a different tier than expected.

Just doubling the number of enemies (in the chapters where we're a tier higher than normal) feels like it would be overkill despite the fact that it would work for the scaling.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I could make this work?

Crossover game question about Weavecrafting

A question that came up with my group as we were reading the playtest document for Erstwild that we weren't able to agree on an answer we all agreed on- Does a Weavecrafted object (A legendary item specifically) count as an invested object?

We were planning to include aspects of Plotweaver stuff into our cosmere campaigns and someone asked the question "Could a Legend of the Fierce Deity Sword block a Shardblade."

A search through the playtest documents for Plotweaver don't seem to include a renamed version of "Invested" or "Non-invested" so we can't just point at that and say for sure.

I'd like to hear what the community thinks.

Questions while piecing together part of the lore regarding what canon characters know regarding the events of Stonewalkers

So- by my best guess from calculating and reading online, the Stonewalkers team would be able to deliver the blade to the monastery post-Oathbringer and pre-Dawnshard. As some of them are likely Radiant, they'd then likely find out about and travel to Urithiru.

I haven't reread W&T since my first read through of it, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that Szeth hadn't told anyone that the Shin had the Honorblades until then and it was a surprise to them.

Canonically speaking, did the Stonewalkers team get to Urithiru then never tell anyone about the adventure they had? Or am I misremembering and the main characters learned about the Honorbearers earlier?

[Stonewalkers] RPG Timeline

I'm working on figuring out the timeline of how the various Canon adventures interact with the timeline. I've roughly mapped out Stonewalkers thanks to a map, and the handbook's data on how fast various forms of travel are (Though I needed to make guesses when you'd be travelling on foot)

The early part of the timeline is a bit loose though as I struggled to figure out the exact time of things Pre-everstorm.

(Original table proven faulty, updated one below)

First, what do people think? Second, do you think there are any errors in my rough calculations?

The only sad part about this for me is that the Stonewalkers team miss the Battle of Thaylen Field. Well, in theory if you had a Windrunner or Skybreaker with Group Flight you may be able to make it to the Stoneward monastery faster, but I'm not sure. You don't even really have time to get back in time to join the crew of the Wandersail if you want to do that.

Edit:

1173.9.2.3 Adolin beats Brightlord Resi in a duel, Resi swears revenge and begins planning an attack on one of Adolin's caravan
1173.10.2.2 The First Steps, carrivan attacked
1173.10.2.3 First Steps, Rough date of meeting Taszo (At night)
1173.10.4.1 Stonewalkers Chapter 1, Taszo's death. I've seen a good arguement for this date on the 17th shard. Thank you Cultural-Rich-8198 for the link. This is the same highstorm that Shallan and Adolin's date watches
1173.10.5.1 Stonewalker Chapter 2, Team arrives at the Kholin Warcamps
1173.10.6.1 Stonewalker Chapter 2, Team Leaves the Warcamps (Yes, I know it's quick, but there isn't much time before the everstorm and you need time to go to Rathalas)
1173.10.10.1 Stonewalkers chapter 3, Rathalas (Well, this is the day you meet the bandint. It's 10.2 when you actually arrive at the city, thanks to commenters fight point that out)
1173.10.10.3 Stonewalkers Chapter 4, First Everstorm (Technically the everstorm happens a few days into the voyage but there's no gameplay before it starts)
1174.1.3.3 Stonewalkers, Reach Karanak
1174.1.3.4 Stonewalkers, Leave Karanak (Assumes best time management from players)
1174.1.5.5 Stonewalkers,Sea leg of the Journey to the valley complete, 1300 miles (roughly), Handbook says this is moving at around 5 miles an hour, and can move 24 hours a day.
1174.1.9.3 Stonewalkers,Overland travel to the valley (666 miles roughly, let's assume 3 mph hiking for twelve hours a day, its a stretch but it's the only way to make the time seem non-silly)
1174.1.9.3 Stonewalkers,Enter the valley (Same day as arrival)
1174.2.1.3 Stonewalkers, Crossing the valley mountain pass into Emul (Hard to determine time, I've seen people say two weeks and I'm not entirely opposed)
1174.2.4.4 Stonewalkers, Arrive in Sesemalex Dar (16 days later, canon)
1174.2.5.1 Stonewalkers, Downtime in port end
1174.3.8.1 Stonewalkers, Downtime in sea end, arrive in Rall Elorim
1174.3.8.1 Stonewalkers, fabrial survey, assumed to be the night you arrive in Rall Elorim, miss the timing window to get into the well's passage today
1174.3.8.2 Stonewalkers, Final Battle
1174.3.10.2 Post-Stonewalkers, Travel by Boat to Kasitor on the way to Shinovar, wait two days in port
1174.4.5.2 Post-Stonewalkers, Continue by boat to a south Shinovar port. via the Aimian Sea. 5 week journey
1174.4.6.5 Post-Stonewalkers, Arrive at Stoneward monastery by foot to deliver the honorblade, 8 days

With the aid of a commenter pointing me to the right place on the 17th shard I was able to put together a better version. Amusingly, despite using different calculations, we actually placed the Stonewalker final battle on the same day (Which meant my timeline spends much less time in Rall Elorim)

Edit: It will need some repairing as it doesn't work currently (There needs to be at least two days between leaving Rathalas and the everstorm and I'll need to shift around the Pre-everstorm things to fit that.

A possibly stupid idea with Milestones

In a campaign I'm working on, there will be a bit where a character from an old campaign returns with their old level intact and they'll likely stick around long enough for them to be in the party when a Milestone or two get hit. They'll also leave and return over this and possibly the next campaign.

I'm already of the opinion that these relatively smaller party milestones shouldn't be enough on their own for this returning character to level up, but I also don't want them to get nothing, so I wanted to collect crowd wisdom about my solution and more importantly if there is a better way to do this.

My current solution is that the returning characters will gain "Partial" milestones. IE: when the level 3~ party gets a milestone, the returning character gets 3 milestone points towards whatever threshold they need, likely their level.

Yes, I am aware that I've basically reinvented EXP from first principles. This question would be much easier to run if the system I was running this in had an EXP system, but no its purely milestone based.

Edit: To clarify, they are a pseudo-NPC. The person who played them is still playing (though with a different character) and they're still controlling what their old character does while they're with the party. I just have a bit of GM oversight regarding the things they're doing while away from the party. They obviously won't level up while away from the party, but the table still wants to see them keep growing, if at a slower rate.
