L3 isn’t working. The pad is torn.

L3 isn’t working. The pad is torn.

Hello everyone,

my friend tried installing TMR sticks on his controller for the first time. I had warned him because I destroyed my first one too. 😂😂

Now he burned off the pad for L3, so there’s no connection anymore.

Is there a point where this can be bridged/jumpered?

This picture is not of this controller.

As far as I know, this marking is for L3.

The PS5 Slim with the Foxconn fan is too loud.

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a PS5 Slim with a disc drive. It had a damaged HDMI port, and I paid €220 for it.

I repaired it myself, cleaned all the dust out, applied new liquid metal, and now everything works fine. The only issue is that it’s extremely loud. I disassembled everything again and checked it carefully. The liquid metal application looks good. I also checked if the console is getting hot, but it’s not. The air coming out feels only mildly warm. When I use the console vertically, it gets even a bit louder.

I honestly don’t know if this is normal. I also own a PS5 fat model, and I can barely hear that one at all.

I asked the seller whether the console was loud while gaming when he used it, and he said no. I made it clear that I wasn’t asking because I wanted to return it — I just wanted to know if maybe I did something wrong. It was my first time replacing liquid metal and repairing an HDMI port on a PS5.

What do you guys think? I really can’t find any mistake. I’ve been playing The Last of Us Part II for 3 hours straight and the console hasn’t shut down or overheated. If it was getting too hot, it would probably turn itself off, right?

I bought a PlayStation 5 Slim with disc drive for €220...

Picked up a super clean PS5 Slim with disc drive today for €220. Seller said the HDMI port was faulty. I tested it at his place and it actually had a picture, but once I got home I took it apart and checked the port under a microscope — almost all the pins were loose. 😁😁

Carefully removed the HDMI port with hot air and everything was going perfectly… until my soldering iron decided to die on me mid-job. Absolute AliExpress garbage. I hate when I can’t finish a repair in one go. 😂😂😂😂

What do you guys think — was €220 a good deal for a PS5 Slim with disc drive?

The DualSense controller isn’t charging.

Hello everyone,

Today I bought a controller for €5. The seller told me before the sale that it couldn’t be charged via USB-C.

I opened it up and replaced the battery, but that didn’t help. Then I noticed that the controller isn’t even recognized by the PC. The connection to the calibration tool also doesn’t work.

I’m guessing the port is broken. The controller still turns on and the battery is fully charged.

Based on your experience, what else could be damaged?
