Peak Kamelot for me. This was the song that exposed me to melodic metal and I never went back. I probably never would have written the Relic Meyers books if Casey Grillo wouldn’t have shown me how I really wanted to drum back in high school 🤘

Not sure how many people here are familiar with that massively successful book series “Dungeon Crawler Carl,” but the author Matt Dinniman is a cool dude and a big power metal fan. Met him a few years ago and he made time to swing by my author table at GenCon and grab one of my Relic Meyers drumsticks. Awesome dude who deserves all his insane success right now 🤘🤓🤘

This remains my all-time favorite album. Not super easy to play after breaking your ankle and taking a 2+ year break from drums 🤘😜🤘

I’ve been in and out of the scene since this album came out, but it’s still one of my all-time pick-me-ups 🤘

Honestly wasn’t sure if I’d ever get my hands on a final copy of this one (Contra Reloaded the Board Game).

Sure glad Kess came through because it’s one of my favorite designs—super dynamic and slick gameplay to honor the run and gun gameplay of the video games 🤘

I’m an author and board game designer. Recently my brother and I started our own publishing company focused on publishing my books and games we design based on those books. Our first project just funded on Kickstarter this year and we are looking to have a tie-in Game Boy Color game for our next big project (based on my Relic Meyers book series).

Is anyone looking to contribute to a project like this? The game would ideally be an action RPG in the vein of Link’s Awakening in a retro 1990s small town horror setting (with heavy metal vibes).

My brother and I have lots of writing and design experience but we don’t specialize art/graphics or sound/music (even though we are both decent musicians haha).

We’d love to chat if anyone would be interested in joining this project!
