The long debacle…

Warning — Long Post

I got on the subject of homosexuality with the coworker I do Bible study with. He believes being gay is a choice and that because the Bible describes marriage as being between a man and a woman, same-sex relationships are sinful and aren’t living the way God intended. I asked him, “If being gay is a choice, why don’t you just choose to be gay?” He said he couldn’t because he isn’t attracted to men. Exactly. That’s my point.

It really bothered me, especially because this is one of the reasons I left church years ago.

Today’s sermon at church was about living faithfully and not living in sin. Given our conversation earlier this week, it honestly felt a little too coincidental.

I’ve always considered myself more traditional than a lot of gay guys my age. I believe in commitment, marriage, family, and faith. But I don’t believe loving someone of the same sex makes me any less capable of following Jesus.

And even if someone believes being gay is a sin, why do we treat it like it’s the worst sin imaginable?

Christians have plenty of things they struggle with too—pride, judgment, lust, divorce, etc. Yet homosexuality seems to get singled out constantly.

Jesus died for our sins. We’re all imperfect. And judging someone for something they didn’t choose doesn’t exactly feel like living in Jesus’ image either.

I don’t have all the answers, but I know I don’t believe God made me just to hate a fundamental part of who I am.

I still don’t believe being gay is a sin. Why are ‘Christian’s’ so stuck on this topic and this so called “sin” being the worst thing of all of mankind?

RDX or Q3?

I’m stuck between an Audi Q3 and an Acura RDX. I love the RDXs, always have. Something about the Japanese engineering.

However, I also love the Q3 and its ride. I dont know. I need all the ins and outs of both vehicles. I am planning to test drive both tomorrow.

I currently have a 2016 Outback that I love with a passion. It’s been a great driving experience and I don’t plan to get rid of it.
