I Joined the Club!

2017 Stingray with 6000 miles, one previous owner. If the previous owner is here, thank you so much for taking good care of her. I feel like I haven't stopped smiling since I got her. When I was searching online for a Corvette, I felt like I would care about getting something higher than a base trim. After getting in and driving it, I realized that doesn't mean a damn thing to me. I'm gonna get to enjoy basically the entirety of this thing's life, and I got what I think was a pretty good price on it as well.

Joined the Club This Week!

Went into a Subaru dealer for a WRX and ended up walking out with a BRZ ts. I knew about a minute into the test drive that I wanted this one instead. This is the first time I've got a new car instead of a used one and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

A Big Thank You To This Community

A few weeks ago I posted here asking for some advice on my next car. There was a lot of conversation about different cars and it was really cool to see your passion expressed through your opinions. It prompted me to do a lot of my own research and I have landed on this 2026 Subaru BRZ ts. Thanks so much everyone for your input and advice, it was very much appreciated and I hope I did this community proud with my choice even though it wasn't a Miata!

Looking for a "fun" daily driver

For context, I am 28 and within the past year or so I've finally gotten a good job in an actual career. I've always owned really economic, low budget cars that get the job done. I'd really like to advance from that and have something I would actually enjoy driving.

The specifics I'm looking for are this:

- Manual Transmission (this is a must)

- not a convertible

- preferably 2 door

- budget is ~35k but I could flex slightly for the right car into low 40s

I've asked some car guy friends of mine who have made a couple recommendations. One suggestion that really stood out to me was an 07 Corvette. Definitely seems "fun", but the issue is that I have not historically been a "car guy." I do not know how difficult it would be to maintain these, or how difficult it would be to learn to keep it in a good shape. I understand that a 20 year old car is likely going to require some amount of work.

I will also be keeping my current car, my wife will just be taking over driving it primarily, so this will not be my only car. I drive about 5 minutes to work every day, and usually make about a 35 minute trip out once a week. If I can help it I'd also like to take something I can take small day trips on and not have my back kill me.

I've tried to be descriptive about my situation to give you the best context I can, but please let me know your recommendations and preferably why it's your recommendation. Thanks all!
