Klipsch the One barely works a year later. Anyone else?

Sound quality itself is about the only thing that's good about it.

Things that have failed progressively over the last year:

- no longer discoverable/interactive on Google home

- can no longer connect to Wi-Fi (by extension Google Assistant no longer works, and cannot be verbally directed to play music)

- volume knob "slips" when turned and does not evenly or dependably raise or lower the volume

- direct Bluetooth Link with a phone is the only remaining control option and it does not receive the transmission well. It'll often stutter hard and there's about 20 minutes per connection before it disconnects on its own from the phone.

I'll try a reset again as well as look into the warranty. Just wondering if anyone else had the same issues?

Anyone remember the Key to the Kingdom board game?

I was always into fantasy films of the late 80s/early 90s, but Key to the Kingdom was my true introduction to "DnD lite" and the sword and sorcery genre as a whole. It was made in 1990 by Waddingtons Games Ltd in Leeds, England. It was then expanded and sold in the US in 1991.

I had such fond memories of this game as a kid, you had equipment cards to find new ways through all the perils, and each dungeon you'd fight a random monster card and be awarded a random treasure. The game board famously folded out/in and would crush other players that couldn't make it to the whirlpool in time.

My wife ended up finding a set on eBay with all pieces and surprising me with it a few years ago. We've had a ton of fun playing it again (it holds up really well!) and I've successfully gotten my kiddo into it.

Just stumbled upon another little feature of the Ironclad Assault

I'd always wondered about the yellow lights overhead of the front ramp that say "go when lights show." I assumed a lack of functionality and chalked it up as something that would be amended and added later on.

However, there's a switch up in the armory/jumpseat room on the port side that says "deploy signal." It changes the front ramp lights to green (shown in image), signaling an all clear to deploy vehicles/troops. Due to the current issues with lighting states on ships and the IC's light switches only allowing a one-way switch you can't change it back to yellow, but I thought it was neat nonetheless.

Ironclad is amazing - such great work from the Vehicle and Vehicle Art Team.

Wanted to just say thanks for such a beautiful massive ship that has way way more vibes than I ever expected. It sucks the lights are almost always off, sucks you slowly freeze to death unless you're in a seat or huddled in the front elevators, sucks we cant check out the new skins, sucks there's no atmo in places, sucks that its constantly switching back to SCM mode making travel annoying and inter-system travel almost impossible.... but none of those things are the vehicle art team's fault. They killed it and I'm excited to have the Ironclad shake off the down of a fresh release and really get it's wings.

  • The signage is absolutely fantastic.
  • It works with the 0G freight elevators incredibly well.
  • Having a crew on board is very fun - everyone has plenty of things to do.
  • The ship is filled with little moments and areas to enjoy, and each area has another it can see and "feel" in the design language.
  • Feels undoubtedly Drake without feeling like anything is held together by duct tape (gaffer tape). This is a high production value Drake ship and it's very cool to see that evolution of the brand design.
  • It's very fun that there's multiple ways to get from A to B. Helps with the monotony and makes the ship far more interesting.

They should be very proud of the ship they made, and it's already shining even from underneath new patch nonsense.

Some neat little things you may have missed about the Ironclad:

  • There's a soothing sound machine by the headboard of the Owner's Quarters bed. It plays birdcalls and crickets. I think it only plays if power is functioning properly (i.e. the lights are on).
  • Owner's Quarters has external blast doors that cover the windows. Buttons on the right side of each window.
  • Owner's Quarters obviously has the cool rotating gun rack, but the large lateral gun rack has a display light that pops on if a gun is mounted.
  • There's poster hooks all over the Habitation area on the walls and in each bunk. There's also one in the Owner's Room entryway and another down in Engineering.
  • All jumpseats have footlockers.
  • The massive hangar door has a HUGE wheel on the inside ceiling that coils up a cable, pulling the door open. Such a great piece of animation that tells a great practical story.
  • There's a currently non-functional set of internal lights over the front ramp that say "proceed when lit" for giving a "go" to vehicles ready to deploy. (the light is currently always on)
  • The flair locations via ship manager are various locations on the Owner's Room desk, on a shelf behind the couch, and in the Command Module Cockpit.
  • There's an ashtray in the Owner's Quarters bed. Really cute storytelling there.
