Amazon Refund to closed account

Hi,

Sent a return back today of an expensive item (£600) after it became faulty. Unfortunately the card used for the purchase is from an American Express account I closed some time ago.

I’ve tried to ask Amazon to amend where payment will go to but they refuse. Any advice on what to do/what happens?

Thanks

Complaints Process - UK261?

Mid-May my MAN-LHR-HND trip was disrupted after MAN-LHR was cancelled due to weather. I had called and spoken to BA CS who helped me cancel the domestic leg (we’d get the train) and rebook LHR-HND. Only they screwed it up and the whole lot got messed up after they tried to reissue MAN-LHR-HND departing 18 hours later and flying with ANA. (full details of that disaster here; https://www.reddit.com/r/BritishAirways/comments/1tt7yr7/almighty\_mess\_up\_eventual\_silver\_lining/

Accepting the first leg is outside of UK261 I complained expecting UK261 to be paid for denied boarding after a failure by CS to issue tickets correctly. Ended up on Lufthansa metal via Munich.

Today I’ve had a ‘goodwill gesture of 20k Avios’ but a refusal to pay UK261. Expenses paid (trains cheap thanks to work discount). Feel like I’m being fobbed off/no due diligence by the complaints rep.

Worth the appeal to CAA?

Almighty mess up - eventual silver lining

TLDR; BA are incompetent when rebooking flights, especially multi leg - beware.

Just got back from two weeks in Japan that got off to an incredibly stressful start thanks to sheer incompetence of BA.

I’d managed to bag those elusive Reward Flights - two seats with an upgrade voucher, 355 days out, on BA7, A350 with Club Suites flying LHR-Tokyo on 14th MayWe were doing the domestic shuttle MAN-LHR before hand on evening of 13th with an overnight stay at Heathrow.

I’d spent the best of a year planning this trip and the Club Suite experience was going to be a very memorable start.

The 13th May finally arrives and our bags are packed and we’ve just got an uber to our local train station for the hour or so to Manchester by train. Sitting waiting for the train to arrive I get a text from BA - flight cancelled due to weather and to contact CS (I later learn there’s apparently cloud burst type weather at Heathrow). No more MAN-LHR flying that day. I think ‘no problem. Not ideal but we’ll just get the train to Heathrow and catch the main leg in the morning’

I call customer services as directed by the message and after 15 mins in a queue speak to a member of staff. I explain that if possible we’d be happy to get the train to Heathrow to make sure the morning isn’t disrupted by weather and we can pick up the flight. I really deliberately tell them not to cancel the second leg and that we will be there. The agent tells us we can get the train and that they’ll cancel the Manchester leg and reissue the tickets. I explicitly check, multiple times that they’re not cancelling the whole thing. I’m assured it’s fine and tickets are reissued.

Hop on the train to London and I can see we can download new boarding passes on our booking showing LHR-HND. Phew - not the start we wanted but hopefully the only hiccup.

Arrive at Euston, tube, Lizzie line, and into an uber to airport hotel. An email arrives… it’s BA.

We’ve had new flights issued… from Manchester, for the following day flying to Heathrow then a ANA flight late in the evening, effectively taking an entire day of the trip. I am furious and stressed. How on earth have they done this and why have they got it so wrong?

Cue hours on the phone to customer services. The two seats on BA7 are already gone I’m told and cant be recalled. Im offered various flights leaving late the following day and then flights with none one-world carriers. I say yes to an early flight via Germany and I’m put on hold. ‘Sorry sir they’ve declined the booking as you were originally routed from Manchester. The best we can do is standby’. At this point I’m incredulous. I’m in London, in sight of the runway with their blessing. I speak to a supervisor and there is lots of back and forth. Whilst on hold I get in a cab to T5 to try and sort it with the staff there. The supervisor comes back - we’ve reserved spaces with Lufthansa and got us on standby, which option do we want. I ask them to call back in 30 mins as I’m walking into the terminal.

Agent on the desk there is extremely helpful and apologetic but is effectively stuck with computer says no to any other options so he books the Lufthansa trip.

A much earlier start on the 14th from T2 and we are sat in the Singapore Airlines (Star Alliance) lounge drinking champagne.

The silver lining? The flights go without a hitch and the Allegris seat on the long haul segment is incredible for space and storage. The food is great and the customer service friendly and professional. BA7? Delayed departure means it’s 2 hours late into HND, by which time we’ve showered in arrivals and already headed for Shibuya

Complaint and expenses claim is now in with BA. Expecting a fight but believe UK261 is payable for denied boarding due to their IT/service failure.

Bungling Idiots

Due to fly MAN-LHR-HND on reward flight. Booked 355 days in advance and beyond excited to travel this afternoon down to Heathrow for our flight tomorrow.

Just about to get a train to Manchester and BA1373 cancelled due to weather. I called BA agreed we’d cancel the Manchester leg and get the train down. They remove that leg and we are now in our hotel at Heathrow.

I’ve now had an email to say we are REBOOKED on a Manchester flight tomorrow afternoon and they’ve put us on an ANA flight tomorrow evening arriving 14 hours later.

I am beyond angry at them. How can they mess this is up badly?

One of our Pekin Bantams is leaving me a little confused about what’s going on with her. We came home over the weekend after a night an away to find her moving very slowly, drooping wings and tail and quite a wide stance. She wouldn’t eat and had an empty crop. I gave her a feel and I felt what I thought was an egg.

Google left me thinking she’s egg bound and so I tried Epsom salt bath, massage, lube etc all to no avail and assumed that she would unfortunately pass.

Five days later and she’s still going. Back to eating and drinking normally but I’ve caught her popping into the nest box and no egg appearing. The ‘egg’ is still there when I feel her.

The location of it hasn’t really moved, I’d says it’s more centre of her abdomen than towards her vent and no amount of gentle manipulation seems to make a difference.

Please help!

I purchased a polo shirt from a pro seller. Sized as a large and describing it comes in a bit small. Well, that was an understatement. No issues who I contacted and authorised a return but the problem is getting my payment. Item shows on tracking as delivered but can’t seem to get Vinted CS to understand.

Any advice on what’s going on and what to do?

Traveling out on our first trip in a little over two weeks. Whilst most of the itinerary is now settled we’re not sure where to spend our last 3 days and torn between Hiroshima and Kanazawa.

Hiroshima intrigues due to the recent history and significance in WW2 plus food etc.

Kanazawa due to it being relatively less well travelled (we are otherwise completely golden route), lots of Edo and period architecture.

Where did you prefer and what were your highlights/recommendations?

Thanks!
