Recently started talking to trees and it’s been complete and utter bliss.

I live set back in the woods on six acres. Behind my property line there are more woods that are protected. I spend a lot of time out there and recently I started communicating with trees. I’ve always wanted to, but for some reason it hasn’t opened up for me until now.

There is this one Beech tree in particular who is so maternal and warm and loving. She has let me cry cathartically, held me in her energy, and mended me up. I always make sure to send love and share my gratitude and uphold the reciprocity of good relationships. But she really has become motherly toward me.

Even my tougher encounters have been beautiful. There is a tree on a hill that I love but every time I sit with him I feel like I am suffocating. I’ve come to see that he is starting to die from the top down. It’s difficult for him to breathe but he is always happy to sit with me and appreciates being sung to. I feel very strong reiki-like energy in my hands with him.

However, tonight was off the charts. This was a new one for me… I was outside about an hour ago, it was officially dark but not so dark that I couldn’t see. I heard what sounded like a crash so I went to see if something had fallen… not smart, I know. But I had a knowing that everything would be ok. I went up to this humongous, OLD oak beside my house. I put my hands on it and instantly knew it was a male tree. His energy was super calm and confident and he was quiet like he didn’t have to prove anything to me. I sat there for a while sending loving energy and trying to be empty enough to receive a word. Nothing. So I started talking out loud describing what I knew. You are confident. You are quiet because you know so much and do not need to prove anything. You are wise. (Energy starts creeping in). Then something told me to say, “you are a watcher”. And again “trees are the watchers of this earth”. And oooomg I started to feel a build of energy that kept going until suddenly ecstasy. Best way to describe it is like an orgasm lol!! But it didn’t feel sexual. It just felt like love and like I had cracked the code. It felt like the spiritual ecstasy people chase with psychedelics or plant medicine. It didn’t last longer than a minute or so and then faded but I just feel such immense and indescribable gratitude, love, and grounding. I was speechless for a while, taking in the non-verbal information around us. Even my dog felt something because he got himself up from laying in the grass to smell and inspect and look intensely at this tree. I cannot wait to sit with him again and see what kind of communication unfolds.

Trees are truly such a gift to this world. I am so excited to continue working with these gentle giants. I’d love to hear stories from others who do this kind of work/tips/practices/any and all experiences. This journey is such a beautiful gift.

Possible nerve issues in neck? When should I see a doctor about this....

Tonight while I was training (jiu jitsu) I went to grab my opponents leg from standing and the right side of my neck pressed against her hip. We made contact normally and honestly not very aggressively at all. It wasn't some big blow to the head. But immediately I had pins and needles run down my right arm.

I am sure I have some nerve damage in there as any time my heels land really hard on the ground I will have a similar feeling only it's quicker and just in my neck, more like a jolt.

It normally isn't a bother at all, but occasionally I do worry that I messed something up in there that won't just go away with time and the right amount of pretending it's not there lol. I tend to ignore things and have a high pain threshold (ie: unmedicated, natural birth... broke two bones without realizing they were broken... etc). But with this being in my neck, it kind of freaks me out.

Is this something that should be looked at now or would I really know if there's a right time?

What do we think about this “amethyst” situation?

So a friend gave me this piece of amethyst years ago. I always doubted it was legit, but I would never question a gift. I like to keep some crystals and certain stones with my plants and I put this one in a specific pot recently. My husband moved the plant outside and it’s been extremely sunny and hot here. I just retrieved the crystal after about four days outside and noticed it is now this grayish color. It had always been pretty pigmented. I know amethyst has a range of colors within it from very deep purple to more of a lilac or even bluish tone. But this thing faded from a traditional amethyst color to this (photo included).

Of course, natural stone does not fade. Unless I’m mistaken. But what do we think this is instead? Do they ever dye quartz? Or is this thing straight up glass lol like CZ?

Just a follow up question… I usually only buy things from places that seem reputable but how can you actually tell if something is a fake or not?

My good boy HATES the water. Helpppppp.

Just some backstory…. My dog is the best boy. He’s a rescue. The original shelter he was in was tough. He was dumped there with scars and sores all over his body. Someone defoliated him. In the shelter they used hoses to control dogs in the kennels. Then a devastating hurricane hit (that didn’t help) and he was moved to a shelter a few hours away as the area was decimated. That’s when I found him and he melted my heart right away. He’s been with me for two years and he’s the biggest mush. He’s been through obedience training and he’s come SO FAR with trusting people. I’m so proud of him!!!

Here’s where I am at now… I am desperate to get him comfortable with water. That seems to be our last big hurdle. I can’t bathe him. I use a dry shampoo foam and a brush and keep him clean as possible. But I would love to eventually give him proper baths, especially because we live in the woods in a rural area and he LOVES to spend hours outside with us. We also have a pool and I would love for him to feel comfortable around it if thats ever in the cards.

Has anyone ever successfully helped a traumatized dog get over their fear of water? What did you do, what can I do? I would love to know how I can support him and help him through this.

Thanks for reading!!

Cross bite in toddler

My toddler (3 1/2) has a cross bite. I'm just coming here to for opinions on how to support her development now and in the future.

I know any number of things can contribute to this but, of course, a mom blames herself. She was exclusively breast fed until solids and ate a variety of foods and textures. My big fault was the paci, but it really helped us. She weaned that before turning 3. A big issue is that nowadays she is extremely picky with food and lives on greek yogurt. I know she isn't chewing enough for optimal jaw development but I also need her to eat lol. Is there any way to help her development now prior to an expander?

Is it true that expanders are typically started at 6 now? Is that the only way to help her?

I should also mention that I am coming here for a diversity of opinions from people who work with these cases or have been through it. I know cross bites aren't the end of the world, but teeth, jaw, and sinus health and extremely important to me. My grandfather was my dentist growing up and if I could ask him, I would! My toddler's dentist doesn't say much beyond "worry about it later" which I don't find totally helpful. I like to know a much as I can about something before I make any decisions. I know it's early.. but if a professional isn't willing to talk about it now then I find myself turning to Dr. Google which, we all know, can be confusing and chaotic.
