Biometrics and uploading evidence

Hey guys. Two part post

I applied for my marriage based EAD, gc, and AP. Partner is a US citizen. I am on f1 stem opt. FO is Chicago or NYC (i am in nyc but lawyer is in chicago, not sure which one im in). No unauthorised work or overstay

So the first question, I applied on 7/27 and I got my biometrics scheduled super fast, I completed it on 8/11. Is that good news, that it was scheduled so fast, or should I not really read into it

Secondly, my lawyer has not really indicated whether they plan to upload my bona fide evidence online, does that hurt my application? I think they’re just going to mail it or something. And does the timing of the upload of the evidence matter? Or do I just carry it when my interview is scheduled.

Thank you

Best spot for the WC final?

I know the Amsterdam ale house, blondies, crossbar etc are solid spot for sports. But for the final, are there any spots which I should reserve or something? Any ticketed events?

Also if there is something semi outdoorsy (so that we can go in if it gets too hot) that rec would be a plus! I’m near the 70s but anything under 90s would do

Going to be applying for my marriage based GC towards the end of July from NYC

Applying for an AOS from F1 to a green card. Stem opt gets over next year in June. Anyone in my position, can you share some timelines, especially if youre an NY resident? the USCIS Isays 14 months for GCs, 8 months for the EAD and about 22 months for the advanced parole. Might not even apply for the AP at that point, save some $.

Thank you!

Never had crabs/lobsters in Maine before, what should be the first place to try?

Going to be there with a friend, and we are staying in bar harbor motel next week. What’s the best place to try authentic seafood? And would like any other food recs too!

Ghosted after a super day is common?

Had a pretty positive onsite for a bioinformatics hob at a major NYC hospital, but the follow-up has been weirdly quiet. I met with 8 faculty members, including the department chair. The conversations felt collaborative, and a few people talked in terms of “when you start” rather than “if.” (maybe im just being complacent)It’s been about 2 weeks since the interview, 1 week since I sent HR a polite courtesy follow-up, and 2 days since I followed up with the hiring manager directly, with no response so far. Before the onsite they were very responsive, so I’m not sure whether this is just normal academic/research hiring lag or if it’s a bad sign. Am I being ghosted? I know this sub hates recruiting and interviewers, but everyone, including HR, genuinely were very nice and gave me a lot of good advice and were very warm overall. All of this.... just feels out of place. Appreciate some nuanced takes!

How long does it take to hear back?

I had a really good first round interview with a large hospital in NYC. They quickly called me for an on site. The on site was scheduled quickly, I met with 8-9 diff people. Now it’s been silence for 9 days. I know that’s not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but I followed up with them on the 7th day. They haven’t responded, I know there’s a lot going on behind the scenes probably but when should I hit the panic button? It did seem like they loved my performance btw. I’m just concerned because the HR was very prompt in responding earlier.

Again, I know this is nothing in terms of waiting but just don’t know when I should start being concerned lol

Prenup needed?

I am getting married next month, unfortunately it has to happen quickly since I am on a visa and my gf is a citizen, and we need to start our green card process. We are looking into prenups, we are fairly young. (27) and we dont have much assets (she has around ~150k and I have like 20k lol). we will both get our parents houses and inheritance, which wont be crazy high either. God forbid we have to use a prenup, but we are getting some conflicting answers about this. Also, some lawyers said we should get a post nuptial, since July is too soon for a prenup. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts!
