Do you feel discouraged when at the bins? Initially I was exited and hopeful to find things but recently I have become more discouraged and reluctant to go. Reason being, I see the same groups of resellers there and they always seem to get all the good stuff since they work in packs and for me, personally, it feels like I am just left looking at the leftovers and all the good items are all gone before I even start. Anybody feel this way? Resellers taking all the fun out of the bins? Maybe it is just me, not sure so thought to ask.

Can one open a desktop computer and with a screw driver take out all the components out and just leave the box? I thought one had to take the entire computer, parts and all, but I have seen folks use their own screwdriver and pick apart the computers and take the parts only. Is that allowed? Of Course entire pc box would weight more and cost more, while parts don’t weigh much. Do the bins care? Parts or whole, doesn’t matter, as long as it is purchased? Just curious.

I see a lot of folks grabbing books and taking them to their cart and then using resale apps scanning codes and throwing books back into the bins they didn’t want. Is it very lucrative reselling books?

I saw an entire 1950 set of encyclopedias in relatively good condition from a to z volumes but I wasn’t sure if it was worth buying. Each book is 50 cents. They didn’t have any code on the back of each volume so was curious what your thoughts were? I wouldn’t resale it but may keep it in my personal library if I see them still there next time I go there.

What is the best app to use to test hard drive health? I see several available - check drive, crystal diskinfo, hard disk sentinel, etc. which is the go to app? Any recommendations?

I have an older HP ZBook Studio G3 and the battery will not charge. I bought a new charger but unfortunately it didn’t help. I am suspecting the battery itself is not working. After doing some research, Out of ugreen, Terra master, synology, and qnap 6 bay models, looks like qnap would be the best option for jellyfin and remote sharing setup for 100tb of data sharing. Is it easy to setup? We need to do tail scale and reverse proxy, right? Any other models or brands worth looking at or qnap is sufficient.
