M18 12aH back from the dead, needed exactly 1 week

M18 12aH back from the dead, needed exactly 1 week

2nd time this has happened after 2 weeks in the charger with the charger unplugged. Identical companion battery no issues

  1. No lights, no charge indicator…..nothing.
  2. Tried all the Reddit tricks, connect to a charged battery, discharge battery slightly. In and out of the charger quickly 10 times. Etc. etc. etc. Zilch, Nada,Nope Nothing.
  3. Exactly one week to the day sitting on the workbench I pushed the charge button and everything is fine. Works perfectly.

No Clue, but I think it is the same battery each time. One thought, it’s sitting in a dark, very humid shed, maybe electronics get damp.? Then need to dry out?

Overtrail OEM roof rack noise update

Went for the first long highway trip with a loaded OEM OT roof rack. Had a Thule Bag, Dog crate and beach chairs. The noise from the unloaded rack is definitely more noticeable then when its loaded. Unloaded gives a low frequency background noise thumping in the cabin.

OEM Roof Rack install tips

Just installed the OEM Overtrail (specific) roof rack. Not cheap but did not want to hassle with all the aftermarket hoops you have to jump through on the install. It took longer to understand the nomenclature ( RR LF, RF RF) for the brackets that Lexus uses than the physical install itself. After watching one of the videos on UTube it took about 30min. Lifted it up on top for placement without help. 2 tips. 1) Would not fit in the 550 in the shipping box when I picked it up at the Dealer. Had to take it out of the box to get it in the back with the seats folded up. Just fit…. Or I would have been installing it in the Dealership parking lot…… Ha. 2) Just makes it in the garage, may want to measure first. I have a curved opening which makes me lose some height. Next, getting all the extraneous shit on top for a 2 week vacation. Dogs will all go inside not on the rack….:-).

Love my paper bark maple

Planted this many years ago, slow grower. When the sun angles are right it shines through the pealing bark and is really beautiful.

After 20 years still sold on my roll out component rack

Installed this roll out rack that allows rear access to cables. Space is next to theater room so no light pollution from all the components.
NOTE: In the beginning all the shelf’s were full of boxes. Now with 4K streaming most of the shelves are empty and the Blue Ray disc player is basically supporting dust collection.

Must be Black Walnuts year in southern NY

Seems like the squirrels have been busy. I am pulling these out of every garden on our property. First time in at least 20 years. We have lots of 60 foot black walnut trees in the neighborhood. Do black walnuts have a spouting cycle? I know we have big nut years and some years none. Do the nuts have to be underground for a certain number of years before sprouting?

Sweet Peat vs. Big Box store mulch

Upper part of picture is Big Box Store $54/yard mulch, lower is what we call Sweet Peat at $60/yd. From a local Garden center. Significant difference in the shred. We paid $75 for delivery of 8 yards.

Just had this new roof put on my garage 6 months ago and just realized it has no vent line boot. Is there some new roof underlayment etc. which makes the boot not required?
