I second short a wedding that referred me

So a couple weeks ago I second shot a wedding for a photographer that I’ve never met before. Her social media made her seem pretty experienced but I honestly didn’t do a deep dive.

Once I was there - it was BAD. She was extremely inexperienced and asked me to “run the show”
For a lot of things.

I don’t like overstepping but also her clients don’t deserve the level of disservice the main photographer was providing.

Eg. She forgot to tell them to put their rings on for bride and groom photos before the ceremony. She didn’t know how to direct ANY photos. She carried around a printed Pinterest board to direct photos and even asked me to step in to set them up because she “didn’t know how.” She didn’t know how to direct family portraits and asked me to organize them. She had one camera frame with an 85mm on it, and asked me to take a lot of photos throughout the day because her lens length was too long to get the shot. She had no back up equipment.

There was a massive list of issues I had with the photographer but didn’t want to overstep yet I was repeatedly put in a position to direct things and their client didn’t deserve the level of in-experience the main photographer had so I did it.

I’m fine with that.

But now, the bride has reached out to me to photographer her Moh’s wedding next year.

I didn’t sign a contract with the main photographer but I’m wondering if this is overstepping boundaries or not. Thoughts?

Classes to learn yoga

Are there any places in the greater Moncton area that actually teach beginner yoga - like for people with zero experience to learn step by step.

Light at the end of the tunnel

I left my husband at the beginning of 2026 and finally moved out in April.

After years of begging him to give a damn, to contribute to our family, to spend time together, to just make “us” and our family a priority… he couldn’t do it and I finally left.

He worked and paid 50% of the bills (and made 75k more than me) while I did EVERYTHING else.

Anyway, I’m over all of that and I’ve been living on my own and happier than ever. I have energy again, I have my personality back again, I find joy in the little things and decided maybe it’s time to start dating.

Last week I went on a first date with a man I met on hinge and it was just a simple date, we shared some drinks on these rocky cliffs over looking the ocean. This man, that I’ve never met before, held my hand to walk down the rocky cliffs and walked on the water side (it was a bit dangerous).

On our second date, we went for a walk on a trail that ended up being quite muddy. He offered to carry me over the mud so my shoes wouldn’t get dirty. He held out his hand every single time I had to cross something difficult/muddy or that required a wide step. He also mentioned that he turned the heat on in his house in case I went over so that I wouldn’t be cold (I’m always cold) - he gave me a quick 2 min tour of his house before our walk.

He is so incredibly thoughtful, considerate and does things without me needing to tell him or ask him and it just seems to come so natural to him.

It’s such tiny little things but they all add up (and there’s tons of them, way more than what I mentioned in this post)… and the fact that someone can do those so easily for me without me asking or begging, just solidifies how right I was in my decision of leaving my husband.

I don’t need to minimize myself to be barely tolerated, I don’t need to ask for help. He’s just there, offering it.

Anyways, we’ve only had 2 dates and idk where it will go… but the point is, settling will never be worth it. The bare minimum will never be worth it. We all deserve someone that treats us with basic kindness.

And if anyone is invested in this, we’re going on a date again this weekend to a fancy restaurant 😅
