Starting IVF soon what was your egg retrieval experience like?

Hi everyone! I’m about to start IVF and I’m honestly just really curious to hear what other people’s experiences were like.
If you’re comfortable sharing, how old were you when you did your retrieval, did you have PCOS, endo, unexplained infertility, low/high AMH, etc., and how many eggs did they end up retrieving?
I’d also love to know how you felt during stims and after the retrieval. Was the actual retrieval/recovery better or worse than you expected?
I know everyone is so different and numbers don’t really predict what will happen for someone else, but I think hearing real experiences would make this all feel a little less unknown going into it. ☀️

How many IUIs did it take for you to get pregnant?

I’m heading into my 6th IUI and have never had a positive pregnancy test, so I’d love to hear your experiences.

Which IUI number worked for you?
Did you change anything between cycles (medications, trigger timing, etc.)?
Did you have several unsuccessful IUIs before your positive?

I know everyone’s journey is different, but your stories would really help keep me hopeful. ♥️

Thank you all for sharing! This is a hard process and its nice to see how many other people understand to an extent what many others are going through.

Sixth iui, second round with clomid- please tell me your success story/ stories

Hello! So my partner and I are coming up on our sixth iui cycle. I have pcos, am not overweight, 31 years of age and my husband is 31 and has excellent sperm. We have been trying for four years but actively trying via a RE since this past December as we decided to move onto IUIs.

The first four cycles of iui, i did 5 mg Letrozole plus ovidrel trigger and i had either a fine response (1 mature follicle always on my right ovary which i know is for most women the dominant ovary) or a very slow response (second cycle i had 14mm max but my doctor wanted to trigger anyway). None of those resulted in any kind of pregnancy.

The most recent round i did 100mg of clomid plus ovidrel trigger. I had a beautiful 19mm on my right and 15mm on my left! Great lining, sperm looked great! Monitored LH prior to trigger shot and i surged the night of my shot and had the iui 36 hours post trigger. My doctor does not believe timing is the issue or its not the main issue.

This round felt very different, i cramped like my period was coming on days 6/7/8 days post iui so that was encouraging... but then i got my period today....

We are going to continue onto our sixth iui, stick with 100mg of clomid plus ovidrel as my left ovary finally came to life with clomid.

Friends, I could really really really use some stories to encourage myself through this cycle. Anyone who has gone through multiple rounds of iuis know how stressful this is and i find comfort in success stories.

Please tell me your success stories! Please also if anyone switched from letrozole to clomid or vice versa, what was your experience and did it work? Also for those who are in a similar boat feel free to vent on this thred.

Thank you, and to those who are still trying, you are not alone!

We are going to continue onto our sixth iui, stick with 100mg of clomid plus ovidrel as my left ovary finally came to life with clomid.

12 dpo

*** PLEASE READ******

So i took a test 9dpo as previously posted and i had a vvvvvfl. 10dpo nothing. Now i am 12dpo and i have a vvvvfl.

I had cramping like my period was coming mostly on my right side at 6/7/8 dpo. At 10dpo i had cranping in my left side. This is my fifth iui- 100mg clomid+ovidrel lh surge prior to trigger shot- iui roughly 36 hours post shot.

15mm follicle on my left ovary and 19mm follicle on my right. Excellent lining- 12mm i believe. Excellent sperm count and no sperm issues. Timing is optimized. First time my left ovary has revved up a mature (or almost fully mature) follicle. Previous iuis using 5mg of letrozole which led to mature follicles very slowly throwing off timing.

I want to know- do you think this could be the start of success from my left follicle? To clarify- i think my right follicle was a dud - could my left follicle be holding one for the team this cycle? Is that a possibility?

First three photos with pregmate are 12dpo and last two are frer at 9dpo. All lines within 5 minutes of exposure .

Also do you also see a line with the pregmate tests?
