Peço imensa desculpa por escrever em inglês. :(

Just a question about what people are listening to here. I'm half Portuguese half South African, e já vivo aqui em Lisboa há um ano.

For me, when I see festivals pop up, the line ups (in my very personal opinion) are incredibly mid. Bands such as Meshuggah, Animals As Leaders, Vildhjarta, Vianova, HLB etc never stop over in Portugal. I could write a longer list too of course.

What is it about the locals that don't listen to proper heavy stuff and is it that the metrics just show that everyone in the country seems to only like beatdown hardcore or slam or whatever? I find myself constantly having to look at flights to Austria etc to catch the bands I like.

I love the city of Lisbon its sucks that we don't get to see bigger/modern names in metal here.

Just curious why this is indeed the case.

Abraço

Seven broken ribs 3 year transformation

Broke 7 ribs in a motorcycle accident. Breathed through a tube and had my lungs pumped for 2 weeks. Coughed up blood all over the street as I flipped over the hood of the car, was gnarly.

3 year transformation using bpc157,tb500, hgh and low dose testosterone.

6'2 about 240ish currently. Wouldn't wish crushed ribs on my worst enemy.

The Dillinger Escape Plan 2004-2013 is the greatest moment in music from a single band.

Miss Machine - 2004
Ire Works - 2006
Option Paralysis - 2010
One Of Us is the Killer - 2013

I don't think any band has been this consistent in heavy music and for that matter, music. Those are like 4 top 50 all time heavy records from one band. Only other band as consistent is Meshuggah with Chaosphere through Koloss.

I feel like Dillinger is somewhat underrated. Obviously they're rated, but they're likely the best to ever do it and I'm not sure it comes up enough.

Gifted Every Strength - Loathe 3:20 onward is mega heavy.

Trying my utmost not to spam the 3 singles released on the record so far. All heavy in their own right but sheesh groove in this one is strong.

Catch 33 Remastered Apple Music

How many of you caught Catch 33 on Apple Music the other day?

Listened to it fully twice through on my Airpod Pro 2s and I felt it a little muddier than the original. Did anyone else find that too?

Obviously sub optimal listening environment but I know the gear so well so its apples to apples as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I'm wrong

Expats with free time:

Ayo, I'm half South African, half Portuguese and thus assimilating here has been a bit of a tough one. I WFH and have quite a lot of free time. Meeting people has been pretty difficult, the local's humour is very different to mine and thus even conversations around the same interests don't seem to connect too well. Also, locals are pretty shy, in general.

If there are any blokes with free time that enjoy hoisting heavy loads above their skull and are generally breezy and interesting, it'd be sick to get some more like minded individuals along for the ride.

Before people suggest things like meet up or a run club? Not really for me but TIA.
