Facebook marketplace in the UK, seller advertised for £110, I asked to pay £90 ($120) if I drove and picked them up myself, they accepted.
I used the website PSprices UK to find out the total cost of all these when they were at their *cheapest sale price* -> £182/$245 !!!
Not the full price when they released (£300+) the absolute *deepest discount* on the *PS store* sale price.
It works out £12.90 per game. ($17.50)
These kinds of transactions happen every day in countries all over the world, typically - it's the middle class selling their stuff and low income families are happy to buy pre-owned, both cohorts benefit.
The only party not benefiting is SONY - and THAT is the reason for making digital the only option.
SONY would prefer to force you to buy a non transferrable digital license, instead of a physical transferrable Disc - that costs LITERALLY a few dollars to make, press and package - simply to destroy the second hand market and price out low income families completely... Because Sony doesn't make any money on that.
It's penny-pinching corpo BS intended to ONLY make shareholders happy and stock go up, at the expense of literally hundreds of millions of people being able to afford this hobby.
Yeah, Sony isn't a charity, I get that... But when their response is basically:
"I missed the part where that's my problem"
(Ironically from Sony's Spider-Man 2002)
It's still a dick move.
So I'm mostly F2P (I have the remove ads permanent privilege)
I've recently got into the habit while doing my dailies, of buying out the only two things available in the shop for gold coins - EXP soda + blueprints.

Because I literally have so much gold coins (!!!) and there's only a few pilots I don't have - so even if I got them I'd still be able to max them straight away (as long as I have enough EXP soda - currently 2.5 Million)

There must be loads of players out there with more gold coins than my 19.8 Million - what else is there to spend it on one you're late game.

(This is also kind of crazy because I completely ran out of gold coins a few months ago pushing into the late game, and everyone said don't worry about it - it ends up not being an issue. Damn they were so right!)

Anyway. If you're still in the midgame - just be aware - I wish I had started doing this much sooner. So keep an eye on your gold and don't be like me, saving it for too long, start buying out the shop of these for purchase items sooner rather than later.
