Weasel, the kit bull
I have another munchkin. Weasel prefers the company of the bullies. She makes herself comfortable in their presence.
Curiosity
Might land Butters in some trouble, he’s peeking at a boa constrictor in her (locked) enclosure.
Burnt beans
My sweet old lady Lily’s black beans. She had the cutest little toe beans
Telemedicine jobs?
Looking to supplement my income with telemedicine work. I’ve looked in to a few companies like Dutch and Rex, but I’ve read mixed reviews about the job as a whole. Anybody with experience want to weigh in? Worth it? Hassle?
Cracked and bleeding after tattoo work
Hey all. I’ve been using the same artist for a few years and I’ve got several pieces from her. The one before last the area that was tattooed red became extremely painful, cracked, and bleeding and a lot of the color didn’t stick. The one before that, similar but lesser issue - cracked and bleeding in several areas. I just got another one a week ago and the healing process was more painful than the actual tattoo. The whole thing got incredibly thickened, cracked, and bled in several places. I can already see that some of the color isn’t going to stick. My whole forearm swelled up a bit and I looked like I had a popeye arm. The skin around the tattoo was noticeably more swollen. Even a light touch would cause it to bleed. My artist prefers dry-healing, but said that I could use a thin layer of Aveno if needed, which I did. Gently washed with soap and water twice daily. I brushed my arm against the couch and it bled, but I nearly passed out from pain. I finally gave in and started covering it in Aquaphor, and it started shedding normally, but still very scabbed and friable in several areas. This is the third one that it’s happened to, although not nearly to this degree. The first time it happened, we thought maybe the second skin was the problem, I’m sensitive to adhesives. The second time, it was a problem with the red dye, I guess another person had an issue with the same one. This time she said it might just be a weird issue with my skin. She also said she switched brands of needles recently. Problem with this - I got another tattoo from a different artist (same shop) and it healed unremarkably. The problem tattoos have all been in color, the non-problematic one was black and white.
So, my question - problem with ink and skin? Or artist error? I certainly don’t want to push blame on her, I like her work and have been happy with what she’s done so far.
First pic is right after I got it. The rest are from last night after about 24 hours of Aquaphor.
Pelvic thrusts?
So weird new thing I’ve been doing. I’ll be sitting on the couch and I’ll randomly thrust my pelvis forward. Almost like I’m trying to scoot forward, but it’s just a firm thrust forward. It finally hit me that I’m not doing it consciously. My last big seizure, I did like a humping segment (I have a camera in my bedroom for seizure stuff for my neuro). It’s… weird. And it’s starting to get more frequent.
Escaping the rack??
I have a Vivarium Electronics VE-6 hatchling rack, and babies keep escaping the damned thing. I used it two seasons, and babies found their ways out both times. I haven’t bred in three years, and was considering breeding this season. Problem is - I have cats now. I shouldn’t have babies escaping in the first place, but now I REALLY can’t have them escaping with animals that will eat them. I bought the recommended tubs for the racks.
Help please! How do y’all keep the babies wrangled?!
Baby from my last litter pictured.
Butters doesn’t bite
But his judgmental gaze does
Today is Butters’s birthday
And he’s being vulgar about it
Weasel yawns
And Butter’s harsh judgement.
Admit it, you yawned too
Weight?
Does his weight look perfect okay? He eats like a champ, wide variety of dark leafy greens daily to every other day (depending on fecal output) and weekly insects (grasshoppers, dubias, silkworms, etc). He had recent lab work, fecal exam, and radiographs - all perfect. He and I are still working on handling, he’s come a long way in terms of accepting being handled. I had a recent temperature re-adjustment/rearrangement based off of recommendations in the reptile heating and lighting Facebook group. Happy to run down husbandry if needed, but just worried that he might look a little thin?
