Rent prices are sky high everywhere and in El Paso you can barely find a home for rent under $1300. At that rate, are the benefits of renting a home still worth it or are you better off owning a home? I know they say you're better off buying a house instead of throwing away money on rent but with property taxes as high as they are in El Paso and prices of houses much higher, is the best option still to buy a house or is renting the better deal? Yes I know the rent is going to someone else instead of buying your home, but does the flexibility of being able to eventually move to another part of town or a city when your lease is up still matter? My lease is running up in a few months and I'm wondering if it's just time to buy a house.

I can't seem to find any info on what happened on the freeway/spaghetti bowl Wednesday night that caused the freeway to close Did someone pass away? Did a truck flip over? Or was it just an accident. It seemed like there were a lot of lights up there responding to whatever it was that happened. Does anyone know? I believe it was on the ramp that takes you into Juarez but I'm not sure. It was one of those that are very high though. I'm just surprised I haven't seen much about what it was.

I know this isn't the first time we have hit 105 this year, but it seems like earlier when we hit 105, it wasn't this unbearable. What gives? How is this 105 hotter than the 105 we had before? Is it because we've had more rain recently? The heat today feels more violent lol I have a swamp cooler, but it sure as heck didn't feel like this the last time we were this hot.

I have been buying small bags of flor de Jamaica and I am looking to buy in bulk vs small little bags. Where is a good place in El Paso to buy the most natural flor de Jamaica (hibiscus) in the biggest bag possible. Preferably more natural and less processed.

Started smelling heavy smoke about 30 minutes ago near basset but I figured my neighbor was having a late evening grill session. Now I'm hearing quite a few firetrucks. Any idea if something is going on? Would hate to think some of the people setting off fireworks already maybe caused a fire.

I was at my nephew's soccer tournament the weekend of June 13/14 where a gentleman was selling world cup albums and boxes of the Panini sticker packs at the Eastside Sports Complex. It seems that the storm that came through central/basset area today did some big time damage. I just saw on the Noticias 26 that a tree caught fire after being struck by lightning and when I was driving from the hawkins area today on Montana it appears that lightning struck an electric post and snapped it in half and about a quarter mile down the road it appeared as if a large tree had also been struck right down the middle. Hoping to find some confirmation in the news but that storm seems like it did some damage. My friend said the el pollo loco also had their window glass shattered by either the wind or possibly the thunder.

Just got a new car and I'm seeing there is going to be a hail storm. Was wondering if I'd be able to leave my car in the fountains parking garage for a few hours while I go to the movies. Does the parking garage stay open all night or is there a chance my car would stay locked in there if I go too late. Say close to midnight? I ordered a hail cover last week but it's still not here.

As the title states. I'm looking to see how I can improve the stuck sound system with as little money as possible. I was wondering if just adding an amp would give the stock speakers better sound. I previously had a Ford focus and when I added a stereo face to support aux and the amp, it did wonders for my sound system. Wondering if this would do the same. It's currently very lackluster
