Sinkhole At Kirkwood and Carling Intersection
The whole intersection and off ramps from 417 are closed. Highly recommend avoiding the area if you can. Police are on the scene. There is quite a bit of water on the road at the intersection.

Red morph Eastern screech owls. So nice of them to pose among the flowers!
Hola everyone, this is kind of a random topic, but I'm interested in learning the word for a town hall or town meeting and how it might be different across Latin America. Searching on the internet, I keep getting the term cabildo abierto, but it seems more historically used for discussing a specific issue rather than a general meeting. I'm more interested in the term you would fill in here, "El alcalde convoca a un/a <town meeting>." And if there's a different term used in Honduras vs. Uruguay, etc.
I hope this makes sense. ¡Gracias a todos!
This is based on a photo of a butterfly (I believe a monarch) that I took a few years ago.
I really want to develop some skill with balancing watercolor and ink. Here, I painted the butterfly first in purple, orange, and blue, and then loosely did the flowers in a rough way. This was on 6x6 inch paper so really tough to get details. The ink was a combination of 01 Micron pen and ink brush. I hope it looks okay. Feedback is welcomed!
I thought people might want to know that it's blooming. Parking was extremely limited at the arboretum because of the beautiful weather today, so be prepared for that!
ETA: this was at Dominion Arboretum, sorry for not including that in the original post 🌸
You can only see the square when it looks right at you.
I'm in Canada so I can't put them outside unfortunately. The aloe and cacti are very happy, the aeonium is new, and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for the lithops. I recently repotted all of them to about 50/50 organic/inorganic, with the exception of the lithops which is 20/80 organic/inorganic.
I just saw this article on VegNews and I got so excited! Does anyone know more?
