So for those curious, Jonathan French's The Grey Bastards was originally an indie darling before getting picked up by trad. He worked his ass off to get a cover by one of the greatest ever fantasy artists, Raymond Swanland.

When he went trad, the publisher... uh... went a different direction with his covers (see the last image). I'll leave my professional opinion out of it, but I think it's reasonable to say that these new covers were widely cited by his readership as a major reason for his unfortunate lesser success in trad.

So TBB not only going BACK to the original cover, but extending it AND getting Swanland to do the covers for the other two books?? THAT'S HUGE! And probably took a lot of work and back and forth, given how good these came out!!

I came across this special edition of Alchemised and the cover art is stunning! ❤️ I love that both Kaine and Helena are in the cover. It’s unfortunate the image is a bit blurry though.

Sorry there was no reveal last week, all! I was on a two-week vacation, and I allowed myself one skipped day just to unplug for a full chunk of time!
