One more rant before I move out of this place at the end of the month. I genuinely want to know if other people experience this with roommates who own cats.
Every single person I’ve lived with that has had a cat has somehow been completely nose blind to the litter box situation. I never grew up with cats, so maybe I just notice it more, but I truly don’t understand how people can casually coexist with the smell of straight cat shit and act like it’s normal. My mom has 6 cats and I have NEVER once walked into her house and smelled a litter box, so I know it’s possible to keep up with it.
Anyway, this is now the THIRD time today I’ve gone into the bathroom and found cat shit on the floor. The litter box is literally in the bathroom, yet this cat keeps choosing the floor beside it like it’s making some kind of statement. I work shift work, so I’m home a lot during the day while my roommate is at work, which means every time I need to use the bathroom, I’m the one discovering and cleaning up surprise deposits.
Just went in there one last time before bed… and once again: cat shit.
At this point, I don’t even know if I’m more annoyed at the cat or the fact my roommate just laughs it off every time I mention it instead of trying to figure out why her cat is repeatedly shitting on the floor. Like girl your cat is trying to tell you something 😭
