Need to create my own D75 Health high school curriculum
Hi there, I have an interview for a D75 health education position in a high school next week. I was told that they do not have a curriculum and that if I were to get the job, I would have to create my own.
I am fine with this. As my first job out of college, what should I expect of these students' capabilities so I can plan accordingly? (for this interview, and potentially my future there, although I will be asking staff too, of course)
Typically in a high school health curriculum, the students would learn about drugs, alcohol, puberty, sex, STI's, relationships, nutrition, etc.
Based on your experience working in D75 schools, what health-related topics do you think the students learn about, or should learn? The person I spoke to from the school mentioned teaching about hygiene.
All advice is appreciated! Thank you!
