Middle TN. Found in a rotten log that fell off my tree at beginning of summer. Another smaller nest sits in the outworld where they keep all the brood + around 50 more workers/majors. Not sure why they choose to have two nests. Prob the smaller nest is hotter. I need to move the heat cable closer to the bigger nest and see if they move the brood. Either way, can anyone ID them?

These little things can devour some protein. Love keeping them.

They are so cute when they are little. Middle TN

It’s crazy how it freaks out for shadows, leafs blowing in the wind, etc. but when an actual threat is presented, it somehow convinces itself nothing is there. This is a whole ass branch in the road, screen showed no sign of an object, but when I drive over tire marks, it tries to slam on brakes and shows an animal sitting in middle of road. Make it make sense.

First drive went amazing. All the stuff that I hated about v12 on backroads are gone. It’s so much smoother in every way. Pulling into my house it drove all the way into my driveway and attempted to back into my charging spot which i was very surprised it knew where to go. After some austin powers forward and reverse action (I can do it in one maneuver) it hit the trash can. So, be cautious when reversing.

I didn’t see it until last second. Hard to tell between shadows and a real power line. Do you think hw4 dodges this? Doubt it. This seems like a tough scenario for FSD. How can it tell between a shadow and a real power line?

Checked on campo penn colony this morning and noticed almost all of them in the outworld. Don’t think the queen is drinking, looks more like she’s trying to hide. I watered them the night before but the nest isn’t crazy wet. Just some normal condensation drops, not flooding or soaking wet. All the brood is still in the nest and 3 workers and 1 major is guarding them. Wondering if it just became too humid and they will return once some moisture escapes or something more going on?

Random mold outbreak in my lasius test tube killed her first brood. I took her out, dabbed her gently with a damp cotton ball, then placed her in this setup while she cleans herself. Does she look okay to you? Worried about spores spreading so not putting her directly in another tube yet.

Started with a single queen. Now there’s like 10. These are becoming my new fav sp to keep. They grow quickly, make cool trails, can devour some food, and are super cute and tiny. Love them

Middle TN. Found inside branch from dead tree. I believe it to be a small Camponotus decipiens colony, but not 100% sure. Queen is rather small for a campo, only a bit larger than the majors. What do you think?
