🎓 What do Bhubaneswar/Cuttack students actually need to become job-ready software developers?

I'm a Java Full Stack Developer from Cuttack, and I've been thinking about starting something locally for students who are interested in software development and IT careers.

When I was in college, I learned through college, offline coaching, YouTube and self-learning. One thing I noticed was that there was no shortage of learning material — the difficult part was understanding the correct sequence and practical application.

For example:

What should I learn first?
When should I learn Java, SQL and databases?
When should I move to Spring Boot?
How do frontend, backend and databases actually connect?
What projects should a fresher build?
What should someone actually know before applying for a developer job?

I'm considering creating a local, structured learning environment in Cuttack where beginners can learn these concepts from basic → advanced, with practical projects along the way.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from students in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack:

What is the biggest problem you face while learning software development?

Is it:

  • Finding the right roadmap?
  • Understanding programming fundamentals?
  • Connecting theory with projects?
  • Learning too many technologies at once?
  • Getting practical experience?
  • Preparing for interviews?
  • Understanding what companies expect from freshers?
  • Something else?

I'd genuinely like to hear from students, freshers and developers in the Bhubaneswar/Cuttack area.

I'm trying to understand the actual problems students face before deciding how to structure this initiative.

What do you wish someone had explained to you when you first started learning software development?

🚀 Starting Full Stack Development Coaching in Cuttack — 1st Month FREE!

Hello everyone! 👋

I'm from Cuttack, Odisha, and I'm a Java Full Stack Developer currently working on freelancing and outsourced software projects.

I'm starting a Full Stack Development Coaching Program in Cuttack for students, beginners, and anyone who is genuinely interested in IT, Software Development and Developer Jobs.

🎁 FIRST MONTH — 100% FREE

Yes, the entire first month is completely FREE.

You can attend the classes, learn with us, understand the teaching approach, work on practical concepts and then decide whether you want to continue or not.

There is no pressure to continue if you don't find it useful.

🤔 Why am I starting this?

When I was in college, I faced the same problem that many students face.

I studied through college, offline coaching, YouTube and self-learning, but the biggest difficulty wasn't finding tutorials.

The difficulty was understanding:

What should I learn first?
Why am I learning this?
What comes after Java?
When should I learn SQL and databases?
How does backend connect with the database?
When should I learn Spring Boot?
What exactly does a Full Stack Developer need to know?
What projects should I build?
What skills are actually required for IT jobs?

I know these problems because I've personally gone through them.

💻 What will we learn?

The program will follow a proper Basic → Advanced roadmap instead of randomly learning technologies.

For Java Full Stack Development, the roadmap will include things like:

Java → OOP → Collections → SQL → Database → HTML → CSS → JavaScript → Servlets/JSP → Spring → Spring Boot → Hibernate/JPA → REST APIs → Frontend → Git/GitHub → Projects → Deployment → Interview Preparation

But the focus won't simply be on completing a syllabus.

I'll explain:

WHAT to learn

WHY you are learning it

WHEN you should learn it

HOW it connects with the next technology

HOW to use it in real projects

👨‍💻 Why learn from me?

I've learned through:

🎓 College
🏫 Offline coaching
▶️ YouTube & self-learning
💻 Real software projects
🤝 Campus recruitment experience
👨‍💼 Recruitment/interview exposure
🚀 Freelancing & outsourced projects

I've also experienced the campus selection/recruitment side, so I understand some of the problems students face when preparing for IT opportunities.

👥 Who can join?

Anyone genuinely interested in learning:

  • College students
  • Freshers
  • Beginners
  • Students preparing for IT/Software Developer jobs
  • Anyone interested in Java
  • Anyone interested in Full Stack Development
  • Anyone confused about what to learn and in what order
  • Anyone who wants to build real projects

You don't need to be an expert.

If you're a complete beginner, that's completely fine.

📍 Location

Cuttack, Odisha

This is an in-person coaching program, so students from Cuttack and nearby areas can attend.

Students from Bhubaneswar or nearby locations who are comfortable travelling to Cuttack are also welcome.

🎁 Again — FIRST MONTH FREE

Attend for one month → Learn → Experience the classes → Decide.

If you find the program useful, you can continue afterwards.

If you don't, you can discontinue.

No pressure.

📩 Interested?

DM me with:

1. Your Name
2. College/Education
3. Current Year / Graduation Year
4. What you're currently learning
5. What you want to become

I'll share the location, class schedule, syllabus and other details with you.

Let's build a strong developer learning community in Cuttack. 🚀💻

I Left My Corporate IT Job at 22 Despite Having Multiple Job Offers. Now I'm Trying to Build My First Business—Looking for Advice from Mentors.

Hi everyone,

My name is Satya, and I'm a 22-year-old from Cuttack, Odisha, India.

Over the last few months, I received multiple job offers and worked in the IT industry as a software developer. From the outside, everything looked like it was going in the right direction.

But deep down, I realized something about myself.

Corporate life wasn't the future I wanted.

I don't have anything against jobs—they're great for many people—but I couldn't stop thinking about building something of my own. I wanted to create value, solve real problems, and one day build a business that could provide opportunities for others.

So I made a decision that many people around me questioned.

I resigned from my job.

Since then, I've been spending my time learning about entrepreneurship, reading founders' stories, talking to business owners, and trying to understand how successful businesses are actually built.

One thing I've learned is that great businesses usually start by solving a real problem, not by chasing a random idea.

The challenge is that I'm still searching for my problem to solve.

I've explored ideas like:

  • A home décor retail showroom
  • Logistics and truck transportation
  • Hospital ERP software
  • Other businesses where I can build something valuable over the long term

I even visited several hospitals to discuss an ERP system I wanted to build. Most of them rejected the idea or weren't interested, but eventually one hospital owner agreed to meet. Instead of asking for money immediately, I offered to build a demo based on their requirements first. That experience taught me a valuable lesson: talking to customers is more important than assuming what they need.

Now I'm trying to learn as much as I can before making a big investment.

I'm not looking for investors, funding, or shortcuts.

I'm looking for knowledge, mentorship, honest feedback, and conversations with people who have already been through this journey.

If you've built a business—whether it succeeded or failed—I would genuinely love to learn from your experience.

Some questions I think about every day are:

  • How did you find your first business idea?
  • How did you know it was worth pursuing?
  • How did you get your first customer?
  • What mistakes cost you the most time or money?
  • If you were 22 again, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?
  • What books, habits, or experiences helped you the most?

I know success doesn't happen overnight.

I'm prepared to work hard, make mistakes, and keep learning.

I just don't want to waste years walking in the wrong direction when I could learn from people who've already walked the path.

If you've read this far, thank you.

Even one piece of advice could change the direction of my journey.

I hope that one day I can come back to this community and help someone else who's standing where I am today.

Thank you for your time, and I wish success to everyone here.
