My buddy Umo :)

My buddy Umo :)

Yay Umo yaaaaaaaaaaaay

Side note: His homemade vest is a little tight on him, so if anyone has any recommendations for a very small sized harness (around the size of a beanie baby or maybe a rat?) that would be great.

A cuddly Hisuian Typhlosion

[Brand & Variety: Pokémon Center - Poké Plush]

I found him for $35 at a swap meet but he was very firm and had a huge flame coming out of his neck! Great for display but terrible for cuddling. Typhlosion also mostly brings its flames out during battle, but my guy is just here to chill.

I barely know anything about sewing but I wanted to cuddle him so bad. So I used a seam ripper to get the flame off, took out 2/3 of his stuffing, put in some plastic poly beads for a little extra weight in his bottom half and arms, and sewed him back up with a ladder stitch. He has some scarring and my unskilled work makes it look like he's developed scoliosis, but he's otherwise doing well after his surgery and is very calm and cuddly now.

Headmates that only front once and then become inactive?

We have a main group of front-capable alters, and several non-fronting alters who stay in the innerworld handling certain tasks.

There are also a few alters who appeared only temporarily for a period of time and then "vanished" either by choice or just becoming less and less involved until they're just not there at all anymore.

Maybe they're just dormant, or fused back into our subconscious and don't exist as themselves anymore, just broken down building blocks that could become someone else someday.

I like our main stable group. I don't dislike our "temporary/inactive" alters, but It's frustrating for us to welcome a new guy, show them the ropes, introduce them to our partner, only for them to just never front again. We try to make them comfortable, make them feel included, but they just don't want to be here. They'd rather be back in whatever universe their exo-memories took place in. They keep to themselves, and then eventually it's like they never existed at all.

So what caused them to show up in the first place? Why did our brain put them there if they don't want to be here and there's no role-related reason our brain would need them there?

Why does this happen? Does this happen to you guys? What do you do end up doing about it?

You just died! WYR have a New Game+ or be the ultimate spectator?

You died, and the afterlife is full. They're putting you on a waitlist for the next 100 years. In the meantime, they give you two options:

  1. New Game+

You start your life over again, retaining your current knowledge. You are born healthy and strong. Your family is everything you wish they would have been, and you are financially comfortable. You look exactly how you want to look, even if not humanly possible. If you want to look like a real life furry, or have glowing eyes and vampire fangs, you can. It won't be questioned. New opportunities find you easily.

You and your loved ones are guaranteed to live until 100, and anything that would normally kill, disable, or land you in prison is miraculously avoided via divine plot armor. You're in control of how you want your life to be. When you finally die, you and the people you interacted with in both timelines will remember both versions of their lives.

  1. Ultimate Spectator

You become a silent spectator capable of hopping into the body of any person or animal, anywhere, at any period in time. You see through their eyes, read their thoughts, and feel what they feel (physically and emotionally). It's fully immersive, but you have no control over their body and cannot communicate with them.

You can live through any creature alive or dead, at any point in their life. Friends, fish, historical figures, celebrities, dinosaurs, aliens, criminals, ancestors and descendants, your pre-death self, etc. You don't need to know their name or face, even the vaguest idea will bring you where you want to be. You can also hop by thinking of a scenario, and it'll bring you to the closest real one that fits. Life's mysteries and experiences are there for you to discover for the next 100 years, but you'll have to do so vicariously.

EDIT: Since the lack of autonomous interaction is a problem, you can connect to and communicate with other spectators in a shared non-physical space that resembles a convention center. This way, you have others to interact with without affecting reality.

Feel free to share what you'd most like to do with your chosen option.

WYR have self-repairing belongings & rotless food, or quick self-healing and illness immunity?

Reposted because I forgot to add the poll.

1️⃣ Self-repairing belongings: All items and property you own, rent, or borrow restore themselves to the state you got them in within seconds of becoming damaged or dirty (unless intended by you). Broken and worn items you acquire need to be manually restored, but once fixed they will heal to that state. Your home and all your belongings are safe from total disaster.

Your items are self-repairing, not "indestructible". You can't use a plastic lid as a ballistic shield. It can be broken temporarily before repairing, so it can't be used for protection against sudden catastrophic destruction (e.g. gunshot). It can be used for protection against weaker gradual damage (e.g. punches) as it will repair in-between attacks.

Your food never loses freshness and is free from pests. Your devices are immune to malware, bugs, and hackers. Batteries charge themselves. Items you sell or give away will begin to deteriorate at their normal rate.

2️⃣ Self-healing body: Your body quickly self-heals from damage (unless intended, e.g. piercings) and is immune to physical/mental illnesses and poison. Your durability remains the same and you still initially feel pain from injury, but you can always heal as long as at least a third of your brain remains intact. Regeneration starts after a few seconds and releases a painkilling effect that feels good. How long it takes to heal depends on the severity of injury. A small cut will heal instantly after a few seconds. Regenerating an entire arm from scratch may take a few hours, but can be sped up if you still have your severed arm mostly intact and hold it up to where it's been ripped. Scientists will not target you for experimentation.

The negative aspects (by your own definition) of any physical or mental developmental differences you have can be optionally and reversibly healed/made typical by choice. (e.g. Deaf person could choose to try out hearing, an autistic person could get rid of their sensory sensitivities, etc.)

I feel like I don't belong in this life and I don't know what to do!!

i'm an introject of a very very minor character, enough so that my source counterpart exists for maaaaybe two or three episodes tops before he dies and is never mentioned again. I'm not new to our system, I've been here for years and I'm still facing the same frustrations.

said character also has a very important trait of his that defines a lot of who he is. speed!! he's a speedy talker, thinker, and runner. the problem is, that trait absolutely did not and cannot carry over into this body. i feel like I've lost a massive part of myself that I'm having a hard time filling through other means. i'm a little more energetic and motivated *maybe*, but losing that part of myself puts me through a constant frustration that I can't seem to get over no matter how much i tell myself that I don't need it.

sure, my personality doesn't need to revolve around speed. there are plenty of things I've come to discover about my likes, dislikes, preferences, and overall identity! but it never feels like enough.

i want to be needed. i want to be given problems and work through solving them. i used to play an important innerworld role a couple years back, but my job has since been taken over.

our real life workplace is incredibly boring and repetitive. it's mindless and i barely have to think about anything. before we were medicated, i was good at getting the work done more quickly and pushing through fatigue better than others in our system. now that we're medicated, everyone can do it. i'm not unique anymore.

i feel uncomfortable fronting at home. we all thought that once we moved out from our family's house, things would be better. and they have been! for everyone else. I'm not dating our partner. I'm the only front-capable adult alter who isn't dating him. we're barely even friends, because every time i front around him i feel nervous. even if i wanted to be friends with our partner, i don't know where to start. we don't have a lot in common. in the past, i used to accidentally switch in midway through "intimacy". which was embarrassing for me! worse yet, he's caught me more than once during my "private time". I don't like having that kind of reputation, but that's what it's become.

it's gotten to the point where i don't even want to tell him when it's me fronting, because i feel so so so awkward. but i have to, because if I don't say anything he might think we're in a bad mood, or that something is wrong. or if i pretend to be the host, he'll start being physically affectionate and I don't want that either. a lot of times, i just end up switching out with someone else. but i don't want to keep avoiding things. i want to live.

everything is so frustrating. our life is going well for almost everybody else, but i feel so stuck. i don't want to spend all my time rotting in the inner world. i want to be me, i want to live my life on the outside and feel like a real person! but I don't feel like i have the space or the confidence to do any of that. if not for my in-system partner and the others i care about in our system, i would wish to just fade away and never have to deal with any of this ever again. i don't know what to do.
