Solution to Teddington Quiz, Part 2

Solution to Teddington Quiz, Part 2

Darren Bent and David Bentley

  • This is the most likely pair of PL footballers I can find with a combined total of 450 appearances. Bent has 276 appearances, and Bentley has 174. There are other possibilities, (see below), but based on the following evidence this pair are the most likely
  • They're both have strong London connections. Bent is from Tooting and Tottenham was the last club Bentley played for.
  • They were teammates at Tottenham - Max's second team - during the 2008–2009 season
  • Their careers are right in the "Soccer AM glory years" wheelhouse, i.e. 2000s and 2010s, so more likely to be recognised by Max than a player that retired in the mid-90s
  • They've worked in the media post-retirement. It's quite likely Max had either or both of them on his TalkSport or Soccer AM shows at some point
  • They're of the right level (mid-ranking) to be recognised by Max and spotted in Teddington. Cristiano Ronaldo and Paolo DiCanio fit the bill in terms of era and PL appearances, but it's harder to imagine both of those checking out of a Teddington hotel.

Oops

The correct appearances figure for Bentley is 184 which means he and Bent have a combined total of 460

Other Possibilities

Combinations of retired PL footballers with exactly 450 appearances:

  1. Andy Johnson (187) & Kevin Phillips (263)
  2. Mousa Dembélé (243) & Nigel Reo-Coker (207)
  3. Pascal Chimbonda (148) & Nolberto Solano (302)

Can someone remember the name of this music app?

My previous phone was lost in a fire, so I bought a new one and re-installed all the apps I use. However, I can't remember the name of a music streaming app that was on my previous phone. Here is everything I can remember about it

  • It operated on a freemium model
  • On the free tier there were no ads (unlike Spotify and Deezer)
  • If you paid, you get a higher quality audio stream
  • I'm fairly sure it has a very short name

Best American BBQ restaurant in Dublin

I've heard good things about both Smokin' Bones and My Meat Wagon. Other (city centre) suggestions are welcome.

Does this seller look legit?

I saw this ad on DoneDeal. Reasons I'm suspicious:

  • The generic name of the account "Dublin Car Finders"
  • The price seems very low
  • Absence of any feedback or reviews despite being on DoneDeal for 5 years

I have a bag of foreign coins - mostly US, UK, and Canadian - that I want to get rid of. I know the banks won't exchange foreign coins, but if they could be donated to charity that would be ideal.

Does such a thing exist? If it requires travel, something in or close to Dublin city centre would be ideal.

On Lidl's website, it says that this window vacuum cleaner will be available in store from 20 April.

How long do items typically last in Lidl's middle aisle? I appreciate that something very popular could sell out almost immediately, but do Lidl rotate the middle aisle stock every week, or just leave it there indefinitely until it sells out?

If anyone has seen this item recently in the middle aisle of a Dublin 8 Lidl, please let me know.

As Mark Allen sank the winning balls against Barry Hawkins, Phil Yates (reading from an obviously prepared script) proclaimed

> What a month it’s been for Northern Irish sport. Rory McIlroy completed the career grand slam at Augusta and now Mark Allen is two matches away from completing snooker’s triple crown

Rory McIlroy completed the career grand slam last year.
