Reversing Liberty Buds fins = way better fit (quick mod)
I recently picked up the Soundcore Liberty Buds and liked the idea of the fins, but even after following the fitting guide, they kept falling out due to my ear shape.
After some experimenting, I tried reversing the fins and they actually stayed in way more securely.
Problem:
The fins aren’t designed to be installed backwards. They’ll attach loosely, but a small T-shaped piece of plastic stops them from seating fully.
Fix (quick mod):
I used a Dremel with a cylindrical grinding stone to file down the stem of the "T" into more of a straight bar.
- Takes a couple of minutes
- Just remove a little at a time and test fit
- They can still be clipped on the regular way if you want to go back to that fit
Result:
- Fins now stay securely attached to the buds
- Buds fit much better in my ears
- They still fit in the charging case with no issues (even with Size 3 fins)
- No need to remove fins when charging
Overall, way more comfortable and secure now, with a solid seal and no constant readjusting.
