My daughter committed a serious crime

I have very few people that I can talk to about this, because it's so horrific that I just don't want anyone to know. I have shared this news with two friends though.

My daughter has committed an extremely serious crime, and her court date is set for next Friday. There is no set time, so I need to go in when court opens in the morning at nine a m and stay for however long it takes for her case to be called.

My two friends have volunteered to accompany me. They are in different circles, and they don't know one another, but I don't know if I want anybody there. The case is shocking and violent.

My daughter and I have been estranged for 4 years, and so I don't know a whole lot of details. But I know enough to know that it's violent and absolutely shocking to think that my child is capable of this.

We became estranged after more than a decade of watching her spiral helplessly. She chose the estrangement when I called her out on reckless behavior in her son's presence which placed him in jeopardy. I told her I had had enough, and her behavior had reached a point when I had to notify somebody for his sake, and that's the last time I saw her and my grandson. Her wealthy dad has covered everything, but this crime is beyond his ability to help her. Frankly, he shouldn't have gotten her out of scrapes because it has lead to this. He absolutely enabled her, and it has come to this.

Things are really bad--- like, she's going to prison bad.

I'm at such a loss. But for now I have her trial to consider. I don't know if I should watch alone or bring a friend. I don't know how I'll react and I tend to be very much a solitary person. My gut says I should go alone. What are your thoughts?

Debating on rhinoplasty at my age

I made a post before. This is a little more info.

First picture is my nose as is. Second picture is what chat gpt created after I said I'd like to see what my face would look like if my nose was symmetrical but no other changes were made. The thing is, I'm almost 65! I'm old and just debating whether it's worth it. However, I did recently have a facelift but damn, I'm so old it's hardly worth it.

My nose has bothered me most of my life because of some lovely things my dad said when I was a kid.

If nothing else, let my story be a cautionary tale to those of you who have something that really bothers you... if your concerns have lasted more than five years, I'd say go for it.

Anyway, what do you think?

My crooked nose

My crooked nose has bothered me my whole life. It's an otherwise acceptable nose. Should I try to have it straightened? I am 64 years old and even as a small child my dad criticized my nose and I have never forgotten and when I look at my face it's the first thing I see. I know I'm old now but I have the means to do so. Should I do it?
