Am I alone on an island in thinking about these parents?
I've been watching "Gavin & Stacey" again for the first time in probably a decade and I keep getting caught up in how much Mick and Pam remind me of Martin and Jackie. My head-canon for Martin involves acquired brain injury (surgery or stroke or tumour or massive hit to the head, resulting in the hearing loss and the general silliness I recognize in my own self after such injury) and I keep finding myself distracted by how Martin would be another Mick were it not for said neurological insult.

This MF rolls up to my house with 2 flat tires and then knocks on my door like it’s my fault he hit the curb, then begged me to help him, even though he didn’t have any of the stuff I need to fix the 2 tires…
Let me add I did try to help him (This random stranger), but he didn’t give me any of the stuff I needed to help him, no spare tire no jackstand no wrench, then when I explained I didn’t have any of that stuff in my garage. He basically told me to fuck off. Also offered to call a tow, he shut that down as well.
(Edit: He finally got a tow and left)
