My fault for buying cheap electronics on Amazon, I guess, lol

My 2017 switch, almost a decade old and beaten down by years of use. Recently i noticed the back bulging out, guessing it’s the battery? Console still works fine, i kinda have to shove it into the dock but no issues with using it. I don’t really want to put money into fixing this when the switch 2 is available, but i can’t afford to buy one yet. Is there any actual danger to keep using this for now?
EDIT: K based on the comments, I can see that this thing is not worth the trouble and I should deal with that as soon as possible. It’s currently sitting in my driveway, separated from everything. There is nowhere nearby that I can take it to have it safely disposed of. What am I supposed to do with it?
