youtu.beIs it possible to mute my pc & record midi notes using a digital piano (via USB or BT), but keep the live audio local so the piano still plays it's original voices through the built in speakers? Have any of you done this?
Sorry if I overcomplicated this, or if it sounds kinda dumb (I am a complete amateur😆), but I will be attempting this tomorrow & any advice/input would be extremely helpful & welcome.
The situation: I am visiting my father & l love listening to him noodle! Sometimes it reminds me of old experimental albums from the 70s/80s, ha. Either way, my goal is to silently record midi notes on FL, but still allow him to hear his own live audio & piano voices locally through the pianos built in speakers. This way, he can noodle around & play comfortably & within his element if that makes sense. I also think it'd be great messing w/ the midi notes together afterward, trying different plugins, bpm, effects, etc.
He uses a Williams Symphony Grand II. It's a very nice digital grand piano w/ midi capabilities. I'm going to check the piano settings after connecting to see if keeping the control local works. I was just wondering if any of you do this & how it works for you? I've only used silent midi devices to record notes, so this is a lil new to me, but does sound pretty simple...
Wish me luck though, because it seems like it's always the simple stuff that makes everything go haywire. 😆
