Newbie and Sony Slog3
Gday!
I am newish to filming and editing.
I do it for my business and went from my iPhone and capcut to now using a Sony ZVE10 mk2 and davinci resolve pro.
Question is in relation to camera settings and what you experienced people recommend.
First is colour, I am currently filming in Slog3 and “trying” my best to colour correct as per some YouTube videos. The conversion stuff seems to get me most of the way there but I obviously don’t know enough about colour correction to get it looking good.
Should I shoot in native rather than something like Slog3?
Usually outdoors or under a deck so pretty challenging dark and light sections in a frame.
If it’s worth the time to put in any recommendations on a beginner field tutorial?
The alternative is I fork out a few thousand and do a filming/editing coarse which I certainly don’t have the time for atm.
Next is frame rate, Australian here.
Should I be shooting in PAL at 25 fps or NTSC at 30
/should I just be shooting at 50/60?
I was storage restricted so mostly was to save space and I kept hearing 60 wasn’t needed for YouTube
It’s mainly for YouTube videos (long form) and reels
Final question, as a newbie should I just ditch the whole setup in favour of something like a DJI pocket 4
Feel like I went down this rabbit hole to get better starting image quality and without the skills to back it I’m stuck.
Alternatively I find an editor to do videos for me, in the middle of building the business so it’s not ideal but potentially something I will need to do in the future anyways
