I saw a tutorial that suggested Ironrach Skin (Base), Volupus Pink (Contrast), Guilliman Flesh (Contrast) and Tahmain Medium (Technical). I would prefer to not buy all of these, so I want to know if I can use the few flesh-like paints I have.

The paints I already possess are Wraithbone (Base), Ushabti Bone (Layer) and Underhive Ash (Dry). These are paints I got for Terminid models but have yet to use. Would these three paints be able to somewhat resemble the colors above? Additionally, would a grey spray coat be good as a base? I don't want to use Chaos Black because I want a lighter look to my models.

Can I use the regular Night Lord helmets on the Skinthief, Screecher, Fearmonger and Ventrilokar? I'm not fond of the design of their selective heads.

I posted some of my silly drawings a few weeks back. I decided to make another painful attempt at painting models with my grandfather and bought a box of Rubric Marines (the small game store didn't have my most desired Nemesis Claw). I felt inspired to draw our gene-father which I think captures his likeness quite accurately.

I feel pretty good about these, I think I could've done a better job with the peeled flesh in the second picture. While I made that I asked someone at my campus library if they knew what peeled flesh looked like. They were a bit aghast to say the least. The third picture has the best gore I think, I really like how little effort it takes an Astartes to mutilate a human, and I think I captured it well here.

I've seen these online recently and I think they're really good. The painting on Batman and Bane is a bit uncanny but that's the whole look. I particularly like the Darkseid statue. It seems they just chose particularly bulky characters or characters with bulky designs like Frank Miller's Dark Knight. What do you think of these, I know McFarlane Toys is not a beloved company and this seems like it was a generally unpopular line because of the aesthetics.
