What are your favorite Vivos?

Here’s mine! They’re admittedly for different purposes, but if I could only keep three pairs, it would be the top row, which is:

Top left:
Magna Forest Escape- these are my tried and true hikers. I have two pairs and they have had no issues in spite of seeing heavy use. I do keep taking good care of them by keeping the leather cleaned and treated.

Gobi Boots- took me a little bit to warm up to these, but as they’ve aged and the leather has patina, I love them more for their sleekness. I find that they are a daily wear shoe for me.

High Gobi Boots- I really love the design of these, more in person than in photos. The leather is soft and supple without being overly thin. They fit like a glove. And they are so well sewn. I would like these better in a men’s width, but they only offered the olive in women’s.

Front row:
AT Tracker Low suede
Primus trail

I don’t love the AT tracker low because I’m not as fond of suede and also I don’t like the cotton lining that they put in it. The suede feels thin and the AT sole also isn’t a favorite of mine.

I don’t find myself wearing the Primus trail all that much. Perhaps I just don’t like this synthetic uppers as much. I also find the mesh a bit harder to keep clean compared to the leather and I find that it doesn’t look that great with age.

Monkey flower going brown

We live in Southern California and it’s been getting warm lately. I’ve been watering less but I’ve been giving these two plants spot watering. They’re starting to have brown leaves and I’m not sure if I’m over or underwater. What do you guys think?

[WTB] Asvine Ebonite J16

Hey, I’ve been looking all over trying to find this pen. Does anybody have one they want to sell or do you know where to get one? Yes I know I can get the titanium versions, but they aren’t tickling my itch. 😆

Couple of cabinets with our daily use fiesta wear.

We’ve been using Fiesta Ware daily in our home since the 90s. Over the years, I’ve added colors both to replace what occasionally gets broken and also to add some of the newer brighter colors. I’m not really a serious collector and I basically ignore our dishes for years and then every once in awhile, suddenly get a little obsessed with adding to it. We use the cups and saucers well, mainly just the cups, daily for cappuccino. They are the perfect size. We use the mugs for hot tea. Everything in our collection gets used regularly with the exception of the covered casserole we have. I was just realizing that I think I’ve only ever used it once or twice. 😆

Bew Origo Everyday Sneakers

So I just received my new Orrico everyday sneakers and I do like them. I ordered the men’s version hoping they would be a bit wider; not sure if they are or not, but they are very comfortable. The cinnamon color leather is a very orangey brown and I actually like that. I will be replacing the shoelaces with an elastic version that looks similar so that I can slip them on more easily. I find it interesting that they chose to use such wide flat shoelaces placed into small round holes and also that they did not add shoelace lugs so that the shoelaces can actually slide, because these don’t. It’s very hard to move the laces around whether it’s widening them to put your foot in or tightening them.

The one thing that really irks me about them is that Origo glued down the insole. I am not impressed with the insole. It seems pretty cheap. I wanted to remove it and replace it with a cork insole for sockless use and substitute in one with a bit more padding for when I wear them with socks and for a longer day of walking. Thinking I could pry up the insole, I basically shredded one of them on one of the shoes trying to remove it. I was unsuccessful at getting a big portion of it out. It wasn’t completely glued down, but the parts that are glued don’t seem to want to budge. Not sure why they chose to do this. I know lots of people completely remove insoles on their barefoot shoes, and also just as many choose to replace the insole for something that meets their needs more than the original one.
