Alternative to Osprey Daylite 26+6

Alternative to Osprey Daylite 26+6

I hope I have followed the rules appropriately and added the image description in a way that is useful.

I had bought the Osprey Daylite 26+6 backpack. I thought it looked great, but I was hesitant because of the price. I don’t travel by plane that often, and at my age (78!) I’m not sure how many more 1.5 bag trips are ahead of me.

Meanwhile my partner had bought a Bagsmart bag that was equally light--maybe even lighter-- and at about $33 about 1/3 of the cost. After vascillating I decided to go with the cheaper one like his, with an add-on of a sternum strap. I have to say that it worked incredibly well on a recent three week trip, and I have no regrets. It’s probably not as well made as the Osprey, but it’s well enough made, and it worked fine as an under seat personal item on various airlines. I bought it on Amazon and interestingly I don’t think the Bagsmart website sells this particular model.

I saw this cargo cover on Amazon for $119. No idea how it compares to the OEM!

Hi! I would like to arrange a whole family vacation next February in the Luquillo area (we are not wedded to that specific area if there are other suggestions, say on the west coast, but we do not want to be based in San Juan). Family = six adults (three couples) and five children, ages 4-9. I am open to one large house, though my preference would be two smaller ones, so that we grandparents might have a place to ourselves, while the sibs and cousins are in their own place--or even two smaller places. I know I can go to the usual websites (VRBO etc.) but wondered if folks here have any specific ideas. If it matters, several of us speak Spanish with varying degrees of competency!

I'm about to pick up a 2026 Leaf, and one of the things apparently included is a battery heater. Is that necessary? I live in Massachusetts, but I very rarely would be doing fast charging in cold weather. I don’t want to be talked into paying for something I don’t need, but on the other hand if I need it I’m willing to pay for it. Also--Is it something that can be added later or does it comes preinstalled as a done deal?
